I think Campbell is. Because I dont pay any attetion to that Lineal BS Championship. The Ring is no better from the WBC or the IBF, ect,ect. So I dont give them and edge over the other sanctioning bodies. I think Juan Diaz was the best LW and he got beat by Campbell, so Campbell is the man to beat in the division!!!!

Marquez vs Campbell for lightweight supremacy.

That would be the ticket. I gotta go w/Marquez by UD. Would be a great fight and I'm a big fan of both so it's a win/win for me.

Well its pretty difficult to say, at one time Juan DIaz had clearly cleaned out the division, campbell beat him, but thats pretty much his one noteworthy victory over a top lightweight.......pacquiao is obviously the most talented and has that impressive win over d.diaz...juan manuel marquez is obviously the most skilled, and he has the linear championship(though most of us think santa cruz beat casamayor before), but he pretty much looks like a blown up featherweight, small as hell...

theres only really one way to know, an all out battle for the top spot.....id favor pacquiao to win based on his size, marquez is older and smaller and more blown up than last time, juan diaz is a little small and lacks power, campbell is still a question mark imo....joan guzman's defensive style and athletic gifts also make him a huge threat, i think he has the style advantage over any other top lightweight and is as athletically gifted as pacquiao, a type pacquiao hasnt fought.....but pacquiao is pretty much put of the question since he is now a 140lb.....

How is it that so many folks think Casa was 'lineal champ' with only one of the 4 belts when Juan Diaz had the other 3? The other thing is that (if I'm not mistaken) Casamayor pretty much ducked Nate (who was a legit mando for Casa at the time) to fight Santa Cruz in that defense where he pretty much got a W from the judges as an early Christmas gift?

My memory isn't perfect, so somebody please tell me. What am I missin' here?

I look at it like this:

Campbell is the mean who beat the man, Juan Diaz.

Juan Manuel Marquez has the Golden Boy belt, the belt that only Golden Boy fighters can fight for. They use the Golden Boy belt to diminish the belts that Campbell have so the GB belt stays in the company.

Pacquiao has only fought once in the division, picked up a belt and is abandoning the division for the higher paying fights.
