I think he is suggesting because Rocky fought past prime fighters that were mainly Light-Heavyweights and then retired around 32/33 all of a sudden.

That's my guess.

well, he got few notable wins, joe louis(37, i give him credit for that no doubt, the guys back then seemed to be able to go for ages) and archie moore(42)

Marciano imo is one of the more overrated fighters of all time. He did fight what was out there but doesn't mean we have to classify him as a great fighter. If someone dominates a division that has less than great fighters doesnt mean that fighter is all of sudden amazing. Marciano fought a ton of fighters that were leaving the sport and then got out after he made his money. Sounds a little like another Italian undefeated fighter in the present day. Both solid fighters but to use the excuse that Rocky could only fight who was out there is a cop out imo and doesn't justify him being a great fighter.
