Now with the possible return of Mayweather, Hatton could see himself get snubbed. Hatton feels that he's earned the right to fight Pacquiao by staying active, while Mayweather has sat around for over a year. [details]
Hatton got Pacquiao fever like Juan Manuel Marquez... Soon Mayweather will have that fever too.....

It's one thing to say if Floyd comes back, we want to fight him...it's another to try to lure a retired fighter out with insults.

This **** could happen to Manny as well if he were to retire 1-2 years from now.

Personally, I don't want it to hit Manny because I like him, but I wouldn't mind it coming back to hit Freddie in the face.

Hatton tried this same tactic: Calling out a retired fighter with insults. That fighter; Floyd Mayweather Jr. The results: Getting KTFO by a retired fighter.
he's calling him out? how is that being a little *****? Floyd retires in his Prime and avoids all the big fights, Pacquiao is actually trying to get the biggest and hardest fight possible. you are starting to sound like a delusional nuthugger. If Floyd retired after cleaning 147, and was say..35-36 years old..that would make sense. He retired in his prime because he is afraid of losing.

        • After Floyd there will be no Pacquiao fever.

          • Like I said elsewhere, Freddie ain't no ***** for calling Floydy boy out. The fight fans want this fight. Freddie speaks for us. Nothing wrong with that.

A better example of a ***** move = Vitali calling out Lennox. Trying to coax him out with 500 billion dollars. WACK! Vitali can't even buy a win against Lewis.

Tough question. There really isn't anybody who fights like Manny. Maybe Collazo or some other southpaw. I just don't think its a good idea to go in dry after a year and a half, two years. Floyd is great, but should he lose without being properly prepared the excuses would be flying.

              • Maybe a tune up fight would be good but it would only extend the time on the Manny fight and then Manny may fight someone else before hand

                • This might actually give Mayweather more motivation to come out of retirement just to spite Hatton

This would go for any fighter that is retired...not just Floyd.

It would be the same with Manny if he retires after two more fights like Freddie seems to plan. If Manny says "I'm retired" after two, once he hands his papers in...Nobody should call him out and say bad about him.
The only thing I ever favored is if the fighter who is Champ says: "If {name} ever decides to come back; I'm here." I think that is a better way of doing things.

For me, fighters like Floyd, Pac, etc. deserve respect for their decision if they choose to retire.

I thought Hatton was a ***** for doing it to Floyd because he had two chances to fight Floyd at 140 and didn't.

Freddie was respectful in one of the interviews I saw him in with the Floyd situation, but now, his ego just got inflated and it's sad. Manny has nothing to do with this...it's all Freddie.
