As for the Morales loss, well everyone has a bad day at the office occasionally. See Quintana-Williams, for example. Regardless, Manny avenged his loss TWICE by knocking Morales out. Twice! But credit to Morales, he was excellent.
But I think you see what I'm getting at since you included "if the weight was there." That's the key. Pacman was nowhere near the boxer he is now. Putting on that weight would've been bad news for him. And even 2003 Oscar wasn't that bad.

I have never been a fan of Oscar, though. Maybe I could have seen more, but I didn't care to do so because he doesn't particularly interest me.

The word "shot" is thrown around frequently by the boxing community as and when it suits them. It is a word chosen to discredit a fighter who they don't like.
In this case, that fighter is Manny Pacquiao. The guy is a phenomenal fighter.
Was Oscar shot when he was winning pretty much every round against Forbes and bloodying his nose with 5 punch combo's? That fight was only 7 months ago. He hasn't fought since then, and obviously hasn't taken any punishment or been through any vicious, brutal wars. So how and when exactly did Oscar become "shot" in only 7 months without even fighting?
While we're at it, answer me this: Why did some people claim Hopkins is shot after Calzaghe beat him, then suddenly he wasn't shot, but labeled a boxing genius a few months later when he destroyed Kelly Pavlik?
In fact, screw it -- don't even bother answering that last part, I don't want to read your wanky comments which are totally wrong anyway.
I'll give you a definition of shot: Ali vs. Holmes.
And a more recent one: Graham Earl vs. Amir Khan. Earl is so shot he was slurring his words in the pre and post-fight interviews. The guy is a human cabbage, and the damage was caused by Katsidis.

He became shot after this fight. Before this fight 9/10 experts were picking oscar by knockout. But oscar was dehydrated pretty badly in this fight, but that still doesn't excuse himself by being beaten up by a super feather weight.

Manny Pac made him a shot fighter.
Before this fight, everyone was saying that this fight is a mismatch, that it should never happen, they laughed and said that Oscar is going to knocked Pac out back to china.
Pac proved them wrong, and now all of a sudden he's shot???.....please
I wonder if it was Margarito whose beaten Oscar, would haters be saying Oscar is shOt????Last edited by VERDUGO; 12-08-2008, 03:12 PM.

Roach is wrong. He also misused the term "shot". End of story.
Older? Yes, a little. Slower? Maybe. Shot? No chance.
