It just seem so unecessarily violent without any real skill and science to it that I can see. I mean if you're going to let two guys go at it like that mind as well let them fight out on the street over a six pack of beer.

The demographics are based on the majority of the sports fanbase. So sure, there are going to be fans that fall within their primary demographic who aren't supporters.

But was far as it being a sport, it most definitely is, and many state athletic commissions agree as well as paying customers agree, which are the people who matter the most.

As far as it not having any skill, I've trained boxing, and I've trained MMA and believe me, both take plenty of skill and technique. I'm almost positive you have little to no experience in MMA training to assume it takes no skill, and that there is no 'science' involved.

As a matter of fact, BJJ is pure science in that with leverage and positioning, a smaller and weaker fighter can completely neutralize someone bigger and stronger than themselves.

no no i dont mean like that..I mean that its common knowledge among internet fight fans and hell outside the internet that those TUF UFC jackass fans were always ****ting on whatever wwe guy whenever they get a chance too..[personally i'll admit im still a massive wwe fan] hell brocks amateur record is like 105-5 for ****s sake..but since these ufc fans are ALWAYS hating on pro wrestlers, its good justice for me anyways that theyre current champion is a wwe guy..

They simply DONT GIVE A **** no matter how impressive brock's amateur record is..all they do is shout 'boxings dead' and '**** fake rasslers!!' So seeing boxing continue to go forward and a wwe guy as their champion to me is down right halarious..only a DAMN FOOL would say that brock aint the real deal...i just hate ufc fans.

Don't say "all UFC fans", give us a little credit. MMA fans who **** on pro wrestling are also ****ting on Kazushi Sakuraba, Don Frye and Ken Shamrock who are undoubtedly on the list of MMA's founding fathers and living legends in the sport. These are the same uneducated "fans" who shout crap like "boxing is dead!!" like you mentioned.

On the flipside of that coin, that equivalent in boxing are the fans who shout "MMA has no skill and is just 2 naked dudes beating on each other!!". Same idiots, different sport.

Those are the UFC's fans. Those are the guys who bought the shirt, drank the water and parrot whatever Dana says. They never steamed fights. They never go to local show. Hell, I don't even think they work out.

These were your exact words from the post I quoted:

Scroll up and read it yourself if you need to. And to compare the UFC in 1996 to the UFC of today is ridiculous. Different companies, different management, the organization before Dana White wasn't sanctioned by any athletic commissions so the rules were basically "1. Fight For As Long As You Need To 2. No Killing The Other Guy". These days it's completely different on every level. But if you want to talk about a freakshow, let's talk about Butterbean for a minute.... mad smileys

I personally don't know who started the BS drama, but I know that it continues on both sides. I've actually seen more MMA bashing here than people bashing boxing on MMA sites. The MMA site I post at for the most part has a healthy respect for boxing because most of the people know what role it plays in MMA, which is a pretty important one. The main discrepancy I see on MMA forums is with the boxing promoters, who have more or less run the sport down the toilet in the last 30yrs. That you can't argue.

Personally I don't give a **** who started what, I think it's a childish argument and I'm not sure why you brought it up.

It's the people who are insecure about the future of boxing, and the ones who don't know TUF from real MMA that are the knobs screaming back and forth about which sport is better. I'm neither. I think there's room for both, and I'll continue to be a fan of both because I can make the distinction between the two.

I'd like to see Golden Boy putting on at least one combined show with MMA and Boxing, now that they are partners with Affliction. It would be cool to see Fedor fight on the undercard of a Hatton fight. It could be good, it might suck, but I would like to see it tried.
