He's not taking on the best competition at 147. Margarito is the man to beat. There is no one else at 147 besides Cotto, who just lost to the man.
Anyone actually want Oscar to win?

Angelo Dundee went on about it in a positive way. he said something like oscar is going to win and it has nothing to do with weight, height or size difference he is simply the better fighter....LeftyComment

Oh boy, if Oscar gets past Manny!!!! He'll fight another midget named Hatton!!!!
Oscar is all time great!!!! I have to say I think these career moves are ****ing up Oscars Legacy, and he has earned it in my opinion.Comment

I respect wat hes done in boxing, hes fought the best and done so consistently (on the whole). But nows hes just lookin for the paychecks and fighting a guy whos way smaller just cos its gonna make him a bomb really brings him down in my eyes. He doesnt need the money thats for sure. Wud hav loved to have seen him take on Margarito maybe (who i think he wud beat).Comment

Berto is undefeated and has a belt. Clottey is a tough hard fighter. Cotto is out there. Even a fight with Mosley would have been built as a super fight. If Oscar wanted to cement his legacy he should have tried to unify the belts at 147....LeftyComment

Yea, i saw that and questioned it.
Dundee was in Oscars camp and wasnt going to criticise him, or state the obvious (that in every fight weight, height and reach plays a huge role).
Its like the 24/7 is trying to make it look like a even fight.Comment

Great career? He lost to Tito, Mosley twice, Hopkins, Floyd and really lost to Sturm. He beat a weak Gatti, a shot Chavez and an over rated Vargas. Where do you see a great career? Just because he was the first big name Mexican fighter that spoke English and was actually from the US, people think of him as some pioneer. I aint buyin' it.Oscar has more to lose than Manny. If Manny loses, it doesn't really mean much. If Oscar loses it buts a serious dent into his legacy. And I think that would be a shame, because he already gets a lot of unmerited hate and people are starting to lose sight of what a great career he's had.Comment
