two things in this article..

says Cotto made 3.2 mil against Shane ...

Also says Margo was getting Rev from the Cotto fight..

Now if Cotto beat Shane and Marg STOPPED cotto, why should Margo exceot an offer of 1.2 million less? also w/out the fight being on PPV?

First of all, Cotto at that point in his career was worth 1.2M more than margo is worth now. Cotto was the undefeated champ who had a very good career at 140 and came up in weight and beat highly rated quintana in his first match. then went on to KO judah. Margo strugled with an injured Clotey, lost to William, beat golden johnson, and KOd Cotto (didn't look very impressive untill the KO).

Second, Mosly was a lot more valuable as a fight back when facing cotto than he is now. His last 2 fights took away from his value. Before cotto, mosley schooled collazo (who according to many was robbed against the undefeated Hatton), beat Vargas twice. True he had lost to winky, but loosing to winky is nothing to be ashamed of. At the time of the cotto fight, there was more money in the pot, so both of the fighter were able to get paid more.

Third, the fight has not taken place yet, so you don't know that Marg will KO Mosly. Pavlik fans made the same asumption and we all saw how that turned out.

Cotto has way better resume than Margarito with the 3 wins also against top 10 WW. Plus winning titles in 2 divisions and With 11 defenses of his titles combining JWW and WW. Plus beating 12 champs or former champs Top that!!!!!!

Look we are talking about resumes, but if you put it that way look at this, Margarito beat cotto, Cotto beats Quintana , Quintana Beats Williams and Williams beat margarito.

the thing is that styles makes fight.. and anyway....... i think this is another thread theme.....


about this one... i still think that with this situation... cotto's stock have raised without even throwing a punch..... while margs have not.... i dont agree with that.. because marg have earn the right to do what hes doing right now.....

still..

margarito have to prove to the promoters that since his last victory... his market value have raised... and that he deserves to get more money... HE'S RIGHT.

but.. .for any ****ing reason... the promoters still.. doesnt beleive that... so a good way to prove it... is to step up to the ring.. with an NON-DRAW ELITE FIGHTER (like shane) .. to see how thats fight does in terms of revenue... and that way he can prove the promoters hes worth the pay hes asking ... what ever it is.....

and 2 millions... with the economics being the way the are.. they are good money .... so in my humble oppinion.. marg should take this fight....

Y sobre Margarito tener Mejor record en la division que cotto, bueno, los 2 tienen 3 victorias sobre oponentes provado y una derrota.Margarito tiene Clottey,Cintron y Cotto Y Perdio con Williams. Cotto Tiene Judah,Quintana, Mosley y Perdio con Margarito. Asi que yo pienso que su calidad de record como WW son iguales y tomado en cuenta que Cotto lleva menos tiempo en la division por eso digo que Cotto tiene u poquito de mejor record. Pero overall es igual en calidad, esto en la division Welter
