I am still waiting on the evidence that he made $3 million for fighting Cotto. Margarito received NO PPV REVENUE and nothing off the gate. He was garaunteed $1.3 million. Thats it, thats all. You are NOT going to find anything saying that.

Margarito did got PPV and revenues money. He made 3.3 Mills overall, I'm not trying to say thats and excuse for not accepting the 2 mills for Mosley because 2 mill for a non PPV fight with you not being the bigger draw, is pretty them good, but he did got more money in the Cotto fight. He should fight Mosley for the 2 mills though!!!!!

Margarito made $1.3 million. That's on the record. Would you like to see how many articles that print that? You wont be able to print one that said he made $3.3 million. This is a dead issue. you're not understanding my point......sure he has options, but none of the options you listed above will amke him as much money as a mosley or PW fight. he won't even make that fighting cotto, which he will have waited about a year by the time that rematch rolls around. so your boy has options, but the point i was making was that he's passed on his TWO BIGGEST ones!!! if he settles for a fight w/ someone else, for less money, it makes him look ******. sure he beat cotto, but that still doesn't put margarito in the "shot calling" spot in the welterweight division.......



that sounded ridiculous to me too.....fighters like hopkins and pavlik got like 3 mil for fighting each other, i seriously doubt collazo made 2mil to fight mosely.....if thats the case, that purse was bigger than any purse margarito has received to date, which makes that sound even more ridiculous.....so, i doubt collazo got that much, i just don't care enough to check it out. it sounds ridiculous enough tho....



considering he turned down career-high paydays against PW and mosley, consecutively, it doesn't even make him look money hungry.....it blows my mind, actually.......makes no sense.

I believe Marg. is pricing himself too high. He turned down PW cause he knows he'll lose the title. Then what? Margarito is the champ now and all the pressure is on him. If he claims that he can easily beat a guy thats calling him out making 2 mill. than go for it. Sign the freakin contract and laugh all the way to the bank! Easy money.

However, there is a business aspect to it that ruins many potential matchups.

Floyd Margarito and Shane Margarito are not even comparable.

Floyd-Margarito would sell more tickets. Shane-Margarito would be the better fight presumably.

That is ALMOST accurate. His actual purse was $1.34 million. Now I would like for them to come back and prove that Cotto made $8 million (yeah right) and Margarito made $3.3

Margarito's BIGGEST payday was the William fight. $1.6 million. Thats on the record.
