If you don't think he's a great boxer then you have as lot to learn about boxing.

No he doesn't have many big names on his rec but if you've really watched him over the years you will see a lot of little things that he does better than anyone.

I see a lot of him in Floyd.

Also lets remember he could have easily have beaten Sam Peter at heavyweight the first time around.(decision was controversial) So let me put this in perspective, a 38 year old out of shape former middleweight almost beat a young full fledged heavy? Toney had no buinsess in there with Peter, but yet he almost won. The second fight was a different story, but still.

I think James Toney could have fought in any era of boxing and been competitive. James Toney is tough as nails.

the point is, he wasn't suppose to be in there in the first place. hes too small and old.

But he was right there trading punches with Sam Peter, and in some peoples minds winning the fight. For me that tells me what kind of fighter he is.

you really think toney was using steroids to enhance his performance? lol. he was going through all kinds of injuries. James doesn't seem like the steroid type to me.

                    No.

Dariusz M., who decisively defeated someone who beat Toney twice (Griffin) is more of an ATG.

But Toney will recieve the recognition and the Polish fighter will not, because Dariusz 1) is not American and 2) his skin is the wrong color.
