I also believe the Hopkins who fought Trinidad would beat Calzaghe. It would've been a great fight as well.

    thanks Machine

allthough i admit to being a Calzaghe hater im trying not to let my Calzaghe hate cloud my judgement of a fight between Calzaghe and Hopkins

    its diffiicult but

i honestly dont see how Calzaghe would beat Hopkins in his prime i think Calzaghe is tailor made for him to decision he is to open and Hopkins is too smart and accurate and very successful against Southpaw fighters and Calzaghe has been hit throughout his career by Hopkins best punch and was even down by it when they fought each other

Hopkins poor stamina was the intangible when they fought and that is not a factor in his prime

      I agree.

Prime Hopkins wins UD over Prime Joe.

Hopkins was at his best beating Pavlik. A young hungry guy his size.

Listen i love Bernard and his best win is Pavlik not Tito. Tito lost to every big elite guy he fought.

his best win is not Pavlik,Pavlik is a chump that i would of picked Bernard to stop in his PRIME and school even worse the he did but the only reason i did'nt is because of his bad stamina he showed against Calzaghe,Winky

who cares who is his best win is anyway he was at his peak when he beat Tito not when he beat Pavlik

how can Hopkins have been at his peak after Jermain Taylor fights when he was losing fights to Jermain Taylor cause he did have the stamina to throw enough punches to win the fight cause of his age

your prime should not restrict you from winning fights cause you get tired and that is why Hopkins prime was around 2001

            that is commonsense

I disagree i think his best performance was not letting Pavlik win one second of any round.

Remember Tito went to get pimp slapped by Winky Wright.

Bernards best wins and finest streak is post 40yo. whilst he isnt at his physical peak in boxing terms he is.

Hopkins prime was from 1997 to 2003.

No fighter can be in their prime at 43 years old

Pavlik was a favourable match-up for Hopkins.

I still think Hopkins ran out of gas a little bit at the end but Pavlik was too confused to take advantage at that point.

Joe doesn't let his opponent get a moment's rest, even if he is being outboxed for a bit. He has a trendemous will to win and a ton of experience at this point.

How many posts/threads do you have to make about this, I like speculating as much as the next person but it never happened and never will. you don't actually know what would happen in a fight in there primes.
