    PRIME Hopkins would UD Calzaghe

PRIME Hopkins would UD Calzaghe he would pick holes in Calzaghe defence and paint his face with right hand counter punches ironically enough Calzaghe has been capatalising on the old age of Jones,Hopkins because of their age but Hopkins in his prime is one of the best conditioned fighters ive ever seen the intensity he could stustain was unreal Hopkins was a 15 round fighter in his prime

i hear Ricky say Hopkins was not as slick in his prime,a question for you then Ricky when have you seen Hopkins take a solid shot post Mercado 1,2 ?thats right you dont have an answer cause he does not take solid shots and never really has post Mercado 1,2 where he changed his style and become more patient defensive etc,by contrast Calzaghe has been hit solidly by Eubank,Reid,Jones,Hopkins,Kessler,Mitchell and guess what mostly by the right hand and whats Hopkins best punch ?the right hand and even more so against Southpaws all the Southpaws he has fought he landed his right hands over and over again

Hopkins was also an underrated puncher to especially with that laser like right hand and left hooks to the body he is also very good inside and very dirty but the thing is he frustrates oponents with that dirty infighting and he gets them outta their game plan its not always pretty IE Keith Holmes but its effective

Hopkins is to smart for the wide open Calzaghe and a Hopkins that can work at the pace Nard used to be able to would beat Calzaghe by UD imo

Im a Hopkins fan but i couldnt call it. If Calzaghe trained hard with a ref that was fair im not sure Nard could keep up with the pace.

Tough call i`ll lean Jospeh close UD.

nard @ 43 did a good job at bringing down the pace..in his prime he would have totally neutralized joe and won a UD with a good workrate and good crisp accurate punches

I would say Joe because Bernard wasn't any some sort of Superman back in the haye day, but it would be a very competative fight with IMO of joe being the winner via UD

Joe wasnt prime when he beat Hopkins.

You have no idea what prime Hopkins would do to a Prime Joe. this thread is a waste of space
