that pic i have on my profile...thats my baby. she's from ukraine, got a granfather darker than i am...she told me she couldn't believe the way white ppl over here looked at blacks, cuz it wasn't like that in her country.
no matter how much you wanna equate it, it aint the same dogg....a racist white person doesn't like blacks for the simple color of their skin. period.
a racist black, on the other hand, doesn't like a white person, npt b/c of their skin color, but b/c of what the history is....
u almost gotta sit back and think about it for a second and put it in perspective. racist black ppl didn't just wake up one day and say "i hate white ppl," in their own mind they have a justifiable reason....white ppl have no reason to hate blacks...wtf did we do?
personally, ive grown to love ppl no matter their color or nationality, obviously, and i long for the day EVERY1 feels that way....
but no matter how you wanna slice it and dice it, its more painful when a white person is racist towards a black person b/c it drudges up a painful past, and 10 times outta 10, its for no good reason, whites should hate blacks. on the other hand, blacks see it as kind of retaliatory......
u ppl can't be serious.....to think it hurts whites more to be prejudiced by blacks than the other way around.....
Your logic is flawed, move on.
It's like when we had national slave day in this country, we had loads of upper class posh people walking around in chains. If the English people were to consider to keep making gestures like this to show their sorrow for the sins of long dead people who had nothing to do with them they'd be doing **** like that everyday.

So it could happen. But damn that fight was boring.
What would Hopkins actually do differently? he'd say he'll knock Calzaghe out then he'll fight on the backfoot the whole fight and clinch every time Joe got anything off. It would be another **** fight and Joe would win a wide decision in Cardiff.
That's what would happen in a nutshell. It's not like boxing would suffer if it didn't take place.
if you know about defense and skill, experience if you will, drawing back is a way to control your opponent, it's a way to put him where you want and to get him to do what you want, by giving up a little space to draw your opponent in, and that is what hopkins did to calzaghe, calzaghe didn't do anythign to surprise hopkins, because hopkins kept calzaghe following him the whole fight, lunging, swinging wildy, jumping in, all of which hopkins was able to see because he was baiting him in, he was drawing him in.
in self defense, i'm talking in real life now, that is how you draw in a would be attacker, if you can't run or get out of the way of the threat, you draw them in making them think that they have one up on you, then you attack with something that they had no cluse about because they were on attack mode and not defense. same thing with hopkins in the calzaghe fight, in boxing it's called skilled defense, in real life threats it's called Artifice and Vehemence..... make them think they got you and then explode all over them or better yet, do something nasty to them......................
hopkins would draw calzaghe in and then counter him, all the while calzaghe would just throw a lot but nothing landing in scoring areas, although somehow and some way they got counted...............

Joe needs to get over it.
Why should Hopkins give joe credit when he thought he won ?
Did Marquez give Pacquiao credit after he beat him ? NO because he thought he won.
I do hope joe decides to fight Hopkins again. It's very unlikely though.
Hopkins really made an ass out of himself with his comments and although Im not a Calzaghe fanboy I have to agree with Joe on this one.
Remember what he did at the Tito press conference?
These antics really inspire hatred of Hopkins.

I don't know what all this "right to a rematch" is all about. It's completely subjective stuff being passed off as fact. When it's not, it is errr, subjective.
Naturally it's more common to have a re match when there's cuts, a draw, NC, DQ, a robbery or last AND least, very close.
Calzaghe got a clear decision from two judges, one 115-112 (win by 3 rounds) another 116-111 (a win by a substantial 5 rounds, which is more than Taylor managed).
The third scored it quite differently, and as thinly as possible at 114-113 to the loser.
That is as close a SD as your going to get, and about as close to a UD as your going to get. So when people are making out plainly a SD means there should be or is a strong case for a re match (ridiculous and non existent rule) here their case comes down to one measely judge scoring the fight quite differently at a win for the loser by just 1 round. In complete contrast to two other judges scoring a clear win for the erm, winner, of a clear and substantial 3 and 5 rounds.
Sorry guys, he lost. You might be desperate to avenge a loss due to passion and bias towards on side meaning you can't judge impartially. But at this level if you lose you lose, you have no immediate right to another shot unless it's really deemed so which is very rare. The chance was missed, and a failure occured. Get over it.Last edited by Kris Silver; 11-11-2008, 03:39 PM.

Okay, nice enough post.
Now, this fight is in Cardiff, Wales. Joe throws lots of punches and is for all intensive purposes the aggressor, if two people fought like Hopkins there would be no fight.
Unless Hopkins pings and hurts Calzaghe consistently, he just loses.
