  • All the talk about Joe being a bum is ******, he's a great fighter who sadly started fighting real competition way too late. That being said his comments are ignorant. If he really thinks Hop is a racist he has no idea about who Bernard is and how he hypes fights. Joe did win the first fight but only by the slimmest margin and he should want to show that he had a bad night and give the rematch. Why not end your career in front of your home fans where you fought most of your career and erase the only question in 46 wins if your so confident. Hop really did make him look foolish and Joe should be ready to prove that was a fluke.

    • Joe actually said several times after the white boy comment was made, that he didn't think it was racist, just ******.

He would have said racist with a bit of tongue in cheek in the heat of the moment, ****** but not as ****** as what Nard said. He won't give Kessler a nice respectable guy he beat a re match, so why would he a rude un deserving guy like Hops, I think is in essence his stance. Plus the fact he doesn't do re matches.

first of all white people have been enslaved by blacks in europe, the Moors, for starters, but more than that, white people have been enslaved by other white people, i.e. Royal families, monarchy, blacks have been enslaved by other blacks, asians hate other asians, latinos hate other latinos.....................it goes on and on...........

          so what is the point............???????????????

my point is this, after a whole existance of human beings we haven't got past the most simple of things to get past, color, why because we're ******, stubborn, and everyone wants to be right and in control. no one wants to be better by setting color aside, eveyone pays lip service to it, but that is about it.

***s have more of a gripe than anyone, and yet what do they do? they go and make themselves one of the most powerful people in the USA and maybe even the world( financial wise and business wise), either way they didn't get too hung up on germany and race and this and that, they went forwards and worked hard at making their lives better, among those who hate them still..............

everyone wants to cry about race, and make it a big deal, when it was just a selling point for this(calzaghe hopkins) fight, race sells, we all know that, and to try and get the biggest sales possible, controversy comes in to play, and all of you bought if hook line and sinker, and yet no understands that it's over..... the promotion of that fight is over and yet it has spilled into your lives as to where you stand on race in life...........sad....

it's gods joke and we're all the punchline, doing the joke over and over again.......only to not realise the joke isnt all that funny..........

i could go on for days about this ******, unimportant topic of race and history, and the reason i say ******, it's because people get emotional about it, instead of actually treating it for what it is, history, learn it or repeat it, either way, the jokes on you!!!!!!!!!!!!
the caucasian created racism...there was no such thing as racism before america...at the end of the day slavery in any part of the world is business....its strictly business

that said..the european anglo race is globally dominant and dominates all aspects of life..
          eurocentrism is in all countries
          thats just what it is

          • A rematch with Hopkins would be pointless. It was a horrible fight to watch, why put the public through that again?

            • Not another boring fowl fested fight against that fraud Hopkins.

                Shocking!

                • If Popkins lost in his turf, what makes people think he's win in Calzaghe's?!

                  • But then Hopkins fought someone else for less money than that anyway
True and good point, but yet those were also Middleweight defenses. Hopkins wanted to continue making history by raking up defenses. Super Middleweight is/was a pretty much worthless division to him. He wanted big money to go up in weight and he didn't get it so he stayed at Middle for less.

It's ****** from a money standpoint, but he definietly wasn't scared of Joe. Especially when he challenged him at 42.

Dawson's best win is Tarver and he struggled with Johnson. So neither Calzaghe or Hopkins should fight Dawson?
Well I wouldn't say neither, but in getting your priorites straight, they should fight each other again. It's all up to Calzaghe. Either fight Hopkins first or retire. It's pretty simple. Dawson does not deserve more of a shot then Hopkins, even if he's way younger.

If not, make Bhop-Dawson. I'm all for it.

He would've beaten the top guy in a higher division. That gets you more credit than most of Hopkins' title defences.
Except when Super Middle was viewed as a ****ty division with "Euro fighters" Not really. I don't see why you are justifying that as why Hopkins shouldn't get a rematch anyway, since the first fight was clearly close.

If Calzaghe beats Hopkins again, he won't get much credit either.

If the fight is a clear win people will say that Calzaghe couldn't beat 43 year old Hopkins clearly, but he beat 44 year old Hopkins. This proves that the only reason Calzaghe did better is because Hopkins got older.

If the fight is just as close, then people will say it proves nothing.
But if they don't fight, people will say he is scared and ****. I don't believe that, but you can't have it. If he fights Dawson and beats him, people will say he should have fought Bernard insted.

But all of the guys he fought inbetween Tito and DLH could?
                    Read the first point.

edit: @Vladimir. Mario Veit was a mandatory for Calzaghe the second time. He had to fight him.

Then accept him as a challenger @ 42?

You talking like Hopkins is not knowned for pulling this **** at the negotiations tables.

You don't meet his whims. He don't meet you.

                      Knowned coldass.

Joe was never 'ducked' by Hopkins.

Team Slappy simply didn't want the shot at proving they fighter enough.
Because at 43, he had nowhere else to go and Calzaghe represented something for him to gain.

At 36, it was a risky fight against an unknown fighter. He didnt want the risk.
