Joe landed alot of clean body shots but half were some pity pat paddy cake **** mixed in with some hard ones...

Roy was never hurt or in danger of being knocked down or out, but he did have a bad cut on above his eye...

        No way he battered Jones.

Did he beat him more than convincingly? Yes, perhaps.
But batter him like he did Lacy? No way, no how.

Joe fought very well and deserves credit, but he did'nt win every round besides the first. Jones clearly landed the only meaningful shots in rd. 2 and 5 as well. The rest was mostly Calzaghe being Roy did'nt do enough to win those rounds. The cut is what essentially ended the fight. Jones' chances of a perfectly timed counterpunch was over when he lost the vision out of the left eye. If a badly faded Roy Jones can knock down and survive a full fight with the P4P #3 fighter in the world , he certainly would deserve some respect.

I gave Joe ten rounds and Jones one. Round 2 was even.

Yea i gave roy round 2 but none the less Joe didnt "batter" Roy cuz supposley Joe didnt hurt him but Joe did beat him pretty bad and im not sure where that guy got Roy was competitive until the end Roy pretty much didnt throw a punch in the 3rd and hardly threw any after that (which was super frustrating to watch, for i was rooting for Roy)... he sometimes had like a spurt for like a few seconds in a round but other than that Joe beat him pretty soundly...

I had him winning 117-110, 10 rounds to 2, one point taken away for the knockdown. I dont think you argue that Roy won any other round.

But I guess I agree, he certainly did not "Lacy" Roy Jones. He landed some hard shots and gave him a nasty cut but he didnt batter him. He still dominated though.

Joe Calzaghe isnt a Derrick Harmon,Richard Hall or Glen Kelly.

Calzaghe beat Roy around, clowned on him then slapped him around some more. Stuck his head through his shelled up arms then beat the sides of his head. Calzaghe make Roy look foolish. Split his eye and then showboated. 10 rounds to 2 for Calzaghe.

It is pretty easy to make an old shot fighter look foolish though bro. Look at the Toney-Evander fight for instance.

True but before this fight, that was the only question that mattered right?

Was this a old Jones or the Roy Jones of old?

Because if the Roy Jones of old shows up its over for Calzaghe.(heard that a million times)

He said himslef, he had a three fight process of tune ups to get realy. Just for Calzaghe. So some now think it was because Jones is old and shot but before he had a chance. Its whatever peoples opinion is but dont take away from Calzaghes win. Not only did he win, he made easy work of Jones. He also gave Roy Jones a taste of his own medicine, had a overmatched fighter in with him and then clowned on him.

Roy was strong for the first 5-6 rounds, then that was pretty much it as far as competitive.
