Hey hey hey!!! Wait a minute. You're not saying that Calzaghe fooled the judges and that Jones really won the fight are you?

he hit him with a few good shots but, the last thing a fighter loses is his punch/power. Roy was incredibly slow this fight and really fought the wrong fight. Are you trying to say roy was close to his prime in this fight(like lparm does)?

Joe Calzaghe is the best fighter in the last 20 years to ever lace a pair of gloves period.
Calzaghe just outclassed Roy who was always overrated to begin with

        Joe Calzaghe 46-0-0
        Dont forget that

Roy Jones got beat badly by Joe, there was no surprise.

What gets on my nerves is that everyone says Jones KO's Calzaghe within 5 rounds prime for prime...

Why, where does this come from? Owe it's mr.invincible Roy Jones and because he's a living legend people favour him to KO Joe.

I might give him a SD or a UD but theres nothing that warrents a complete slashing by Jones IMO, only fooling themselves and disowning Joe because he's ****y with his undefeated record and only fought old men when he was old himself!

I don't like saying this sort of stuff but when I see Prime Jones kills Calzaghe in 5 I just want to join the haters side and say, what was Joe a Cab driver when he was 25?

Roy's even lost some of his power. And it makes sense - he's lost some speed so it's natural he'll lose the pop behind his punches.

Yeah. Roy is shot and has been so for a long time. A win over an over-the-hill Lacy, who wasn't that good to begin with, serves as little more than a feel-good story for those who likes to see fighters who should be sitting in a rocking chair enjoying returement, have a last orchestrated hurrah.

                    not ANY credit?

how about the fact that Mr. Jermain Taylor... who, 15 seconds longer would of been the new SMW champion.. and is a live dog in the SMW tourney.. couldnt do that to Lacy.

I mean Lacy isnt a great win... but Roy beat him worse than a fighter who is at least still considered an A- fighter....

I mean can he get ANY credit? especially coming from what hes been through these last 5 years?

I have only seen highlights of the Taylor fight.

Didn't Taylor carry Lacy a bit? I know they are good friends.

Still Jones should get credit for sure. He DID beat a top 10-15 SMW albeit at 175. Pretty good for a 40 year old.

Personally I would rather that he'd hang'em up but maybe that's just me.
