I doubt that I said that. I just fancied the odds and what are points for anyway?im not even asking for a lot of credit... just some credit.. any kind of credit... its been a roy bashfest ever since the fight...
incredible
do you know how many people told me lacy was gonna knockout roy... beat roy?
battheman included...
like i said.. it wasnt beating lacy... it was roys performance...
hes done nothing but squeak by his competition the last 5 years... just doing enough to win.. just enough to outpoint... and then he comes out and completely dismantles lacy... its not that roy shouldnt of beaten him... but he shouldnt of beaten him like that... not THIS roy at least... and i guess thats my point..
I have paid you BTW. You haven't said thank you or erased the bet from your sig. You have banked the points though.

I reckon Lacy looked worse against Zags, if just by the expression on his face in between rounds - he appeared genuinely shellshocked that he was getting beat for the first time, and beat so bad. Genuine rabbit-in-headlights stuff. But all the while, I doubt the pittypat (heh) stuff was hurting him tremendously. More like mosquito bites or wasp stings, perhaps?Dan Birmingham thought Roy did... he said Joe did a number on him but at the end of the rounds he was always coming back talkin **** saying his power is **** he cant hurt me.... he said that Roy was actually hurting Lacy, numerous times Roy had him hurt and almost ready to go...
Joe landed a lot more punches, but Id say Roy actually hurt Lacy more...
obviously Joe beat a much more fresher version... but im just answerin the question
Against Jones, there looked to be a more resigned acceptance to his beatdown. Most of the time he kept pushing and pushing and making a real effort to at least do some work against the ropes/in the corner, until round 9 or sometime when he noticeably backed away so as to avoid more punishment. In which case, I'll definitely agree with you that Jones put the hurt on him far worse. He looked ghastly after it was over...Comment

yeah, i think lacy was more shellshocked being that he was unbeaten at the time... so he never knew defeat...I reckon Lacy looked worse against Zags, if just by the expression on his face in between rounds - he appeared genuinely shellshocked that he was getting beat, and beat so bad. yeah i dont know if u read my interview.. but they kept him in the ER after the fight for 4 hours.. and when he got to the airport the next morning it took him an hour to figure out which airline he was flying out of... he was completely out of it i guessComment

Roy Jones is shot to ****. That he's still able to beat fringe contenders at this stage is a testament to how great he was in his prime. Pop in a tape of Jones versus Reggie Johnson and then watch him now. Enormous difference.Comment

Last weekend's fight? **** on me, man. Talk about the punching bag treatment in its most literal form...
But regardless, if it's credit Jones wants/needs, he gets it from me - not necessarily for beating a not-so-good in Lacy, but for how smile-worthy his performance was. Earlier last week I watched the Sheika fight and it, too, brought the same kinda grin to my face.
Whether it's cruel seeing a 40 year-old trying to revive a so-called "shot" career fighting [Calzaghe's] leftovers instead of sitting on a rocking chair or whatever, there's nothing wrong with simply enjoying what he does in the ring. For however long he can keep doing it, it's just FUN.
I still kinda want Hopkins II, though. And dammit, I steeyul need that Del Valle fight...Comment
