Now is a time to draw a line under things and retire knowing that he is one of the best of his era and one of the best to ever emerge from Britain's shores.
    Hatton is completely WRONG...

CD was a major player beffore Joe even entered the the LHW division. CD had the WBC he won by defeating an undeafted Admek (sp)..he has wins over GJ AND Tarver BOTH former LHW champions...

Joe could retire at 37 yes and you cant knock him.. but he certainly hasnt cleaned out LHW until he fights CD...

I normally like to just watch on this board but now i had it. Mikkel has beat NOBODY and he thinks he should fight JCal...stop it sir....u had your chance...nobody wants to C that again and it would land on free HBO.....go and man up and fight winner of Lacy/Taylor or just beat sumbody that we can recognize without his name on his boxing trunks..... Look im a Chad Dawson slappy so im a bit biased but is there anybody on this board that thinks Hopkins and Roy can beat Dawson....I hope not. Chad is young and quick and throws combinations...sumthing Hopkins, roy or Pavlik don't do. I want to C JCal fight him bcuz he has always been the best LHW since Joe came. Nobody on this board can honestly say that BHop and Roy has any power close to Chad. I knew Pavlik was gonna get whipp'd by Joe so im glad that didn't happen but if Joe didn't fight him I would understand. He don't have to fight Chad and still go out on top. But trust me he would not whip Chad. Oh no way and no how. Why yall think Chad name don't cum up when Roy and BHop starts talking..... man trust that is no accident. Chad said he can go down to SMW and fight so lets see who calls his name out.

hatton is wrong.this match up would erase any doubts anyone has of joe.it would be an amazing way to go out.the memory of a prime jones has been an absolute facade the last three years.people will always see him as that god boxer.i would love to see this.2 southpaws, speed, activity, chad with a less than stellar beard, joe with a great one, chad with the size, this would be awesome.and the best match up at light heavy in years.and chad would wreck kessler.

Which ****** boxing fan would pick Dawson over Calzaghe. Calzaghe is a born winner, I'm sorry but the guy just doesn't lose unless it's to an exceptionally great fighter (like Prime Jones).
I would say that Prime Jones vs Prime Calzaghe is a very close fight...no clear winner.

Calzaghe would pound Dawson into an easy UD win. He has nothing to gain by actually doing it. Whether he does it or not, the same biased Calzaghe haters will just claim Dawson was a bum and then come up with a new hype to put in front of Joe. Then after Joe beat that new hype, the cycle would repeat again.

Calzaghe should retire like he said he would, leaving all the haters with nothing but their frustrated "what if" scenarios.

RJJ and B-hop wasn't big wins for him, they were decent because they were way pass their prime and old as s*it.....Dawson win would a huge for calzaghe... I would think he was the best fighter ever than featuring dawson is the number 1 light heavyweight... then it wouldnt be noone left 4 him...Until Joe Calzaghe fights dawson he's no legend....Roy Jones and B-hop ducked noone...they fought young cats it's time for Joe Calzaghe to have a real test now with a true light heavy weight...Hatton is wrong hes just trying to avoid calzaghe from what could happen to him, that happen him with mayweather...

great post..calzaghe fans realize joe can't retire w/out facing the best fighter at 175 and it damn sure wasn't bhop and roy when calzaghe fought them.

now if his fans simply want him to retire havng built a legacy at 168 beating bums and then going to 175 on a seniors tour then by all means..but he will not be mentioned as an atg until does something that all atg have done

I think it was really pretty weak of Ricky to say this. He is basically confirming that he doesnt believe Joe can beat Bad Chad.

I think more hard-core fans would have rather seen Calzaghe take on an actual "live" Light-Heavyweight, in Chad Dawson, then a 43 year old fighter who was a middle-weight most of his career, who moved up and beat a deflated Tarver (who beat a deflated Roy Jones), and then...at the end, fought a Shot Roy Jones Jr.
