No, the point is: Fighters age at different rates. Fighters put more or less stress on their bodies and from that perspective can be at their primes at different ages. They didn't start Roy and Joe from the same yellow tape and time them to see who would run the furthest. I know thats an easy, simple way to look at the sport for you, but its just not the way it works. Sorry.
Calzaghe beats Jones at any age.

Also if instead of running your mouth you just put on a vid of said fighters at age 28 or so (and pick bums for each, so you have a fair comparison), then watch the replay of yesterday night (or their last fights), instead of jerking off to it, you will see why what you are saying makes no sense.Comment

Don't waste your time. Not only would RJJ have had trouble with Calzaghe, he would of lost, even 10 years ago. He looked bad not because he was really washed up as many of you would claim, but because Calzaghe is just plain to much for him.
I didn't see him look old and washed up against Trinidad... That was how long ago? 10 months ago? lol
So he went from a still competitive fighter to a washed up bum in 10 months. I don't think so...
I don't see any difference in the outcome if it were 10 or or 15 years ago.
Calzaghe owns Jones at any age. His style just plain overwhelms Jones and Jones is not a good technical fighter.
Get over it, quit crying, man up, and admit your boy got soundly beat by the better fighter, and the outcome would of been the same regardless if it was 5 or 10 years ago.
Absolute Bul****....

OH I watched the prime Roy Jones, Jr. I watched the prime Roy Jones, Jr. fight bum after bum while milking the money train for all that it was worth. Yes I watched him in his prime wasting his talent fighting a string of hapless bums. I finally gave up. Anybody can look good against a punching bag. He looked absolutely great.Comment

I've never seen any fights of either guy so I won't comment on that example.
But if you want to say only Roy Jones is capable of losing speed and reflexes as they age, well, thats on you.
Roy Jones isn't God, Superman or whatever else you guys want him to be in the annals of boxing history. He like many other greats, had great and memorable prime runs.
Doesn't make him unbeatable.
Or, I could always look at Joe Cs prime and claim him unbeatable as well.
46-0 supports my claim.Comment
