I think RJJ would of simply boxed his way to a decision ! I watched one fight Dariuisz had and wasn't impressed ! So I'm basing what I seen ! I definately could've missed something !

Roy Jones Vs. Daruisz M.

Bernard and Toney were the number two and three middleweights in that Era and you saw what happened to them. Saying Roy didn't take chances is really a mirage. What really happened was Roy fought the best boxing had to offer and he was just way to good for them, making them look completely inferior. 7 foot Nikali Valuev still cant beat John Ruiz while 5'11'' Roy Dominated him five years ago. Roy was simply unfairly skilled.

from what i know money was an issue but the sticking point was really the location.
roy wanted it in the states and dariusz wanted it in his hometown.
roy should've fought him anywhere really i don't think dariusz could have beat him.
roy was wary in fighting in his hometown though. after what happened to him in the olympics......can't really blame him.
Dariusz was not German, and the fight was never to be in his hometown. He's Polish. You are right that Roy should've fought him. Dariusz was the best LHW in the world, unified 3 belts, before Roy entered LHW. And he was unbeaten through Roy's run at LHW. Roy took a lot of criticism both on HBO and in the boxing press for years about it. Dariusz flew to the states and was ringside for one of Roy's fights (the Virgil Hill fight I think, who Dariusz already beat). Dariusz took a full page ad out in one of the boxing rags at the time, begging Roy to fight him...I can't remember if it was RIng or Boxing Digest..
It's really unprecedented for a fighter of Roy's calibur and regard to fight for so many years at a weight, while never fighting the recognized champion and his biggest challenge at the weight. Like I said, more than any other, the missing Michalczewski fight is the biggest blemish on his record through his first LHW run.

I wonder how many of the people voting for Roy are doing so because they have seen multiples fights of Darius M, and how many are voting based upon the logic that "prime Roy was unbeatable".

Roy ducked Dariusz, the most underrated fighter of all time, for a reason. People here should download his fights from our videos section and watch them, before jumping to the conclusion that Roy would have win.
I say Dariusz, who fought and defeated many of the same opponents as Roy did, would have a very good chance of beating the glass-jawed American.

He never got KOed. He lost an MD in his 49th fight, and only in his last fight he lost by TKO. He never lost to anyone called "rocchgiani".
He easily defeated people like Hill and Griffin (two wins over Toney) in his/their prime.Last edited by The Hammer; 10-31-2008, 08:17 AM.

he was however a german citizen. a german citizen , living in germany , fighting in germany. i'd say germany was his hometown.
don't try to make it sound like it's all roy's fault. there's plenty of blame on both sides.
there's a reason dariusz lost all those pretty belts he had won.

he lost to julio gonzalez , one of roy's victims.
rocchigiani (sp?) didn't beat dariusz. i think the guy just saw that he succeeded dariusz for the belt so i think that's why the guy thought that.
