The answer is not there. It's: "Roy would have won a tough fight, taking more punishment than he had in any one fight of his career to that date."

Dariusz was underrated by the general boxing public, but not by people in boxing and other boxers. Roy knew there was easier money to be made out there, and HBO didn't hold his feet to the fire. So he took the easier money and the criticism. I'm a big Roy fan, and have been for his whole career. That's one missing fight that hurts his legacy.

Thats not the point though and online polls dont prove anything. Fighting does and Roy never fought him. Enough said really.

For all users: IF Roy Jones Jr.did acually fight Dariusz M., what would have happened?

This is the issue with guys like Jones and Mayweather though. Their no-risk attitude to their careers means we have to rely on fantasy match-ups and speculation for fights that should have been made in reality.

It would have been a very good fight and Roy most likely wins.

Their styles would have made for a very good fight, Michalczewski was a pretty fast guy himself, handspeed and footspeed were pretty good and he cut off the ring well behind a high guard but he never fought anyone as fast and as good as Jones so Jones by decision but he would get frustrated at moments along the way IMO.

roy wasn't scared of dariusz michalczewski.

from what i know money was an issue but the sticking point was really the location.

roy wanted it in the states and dariusz wanted it in his hometown.

roy should've fought him anywhere really i don't think dariusz could have beat him.

roy was wary in fighting in his hometown though. after what happened to him in the olympics......can't really blame him.
