U didn’t. I did. Just pointing out the fact that roy jones is only more gifted than Bernard physically, but he isn’t the greater fighter. U seem to be agreeing, by the fact u stated “its catching up with him now…”

I'd have to be ignorant to not acknowledge that Roy's lack of technical skills in his prime is catching up to him now. He's just started using the peek-a-boo defense ala Winky Wright. There's no doubt that Hopkins is a great technician but that's b/c he HAD to be. Roy didn't have to be technically great b/c his reflexes were so far beyond anyone else that all he needed to do was move his head to avoid getting hit and yes, that did catch up with him later on.
Honestly, both fighters should have hung them up years ago and would have still have been considered all time greats.

Roy was knocked out at 35 years old. Say what you will about Tarver being 35 too, Roy had twice as many fights. Roy had more wear and tear on his body than Tarver did. And lets remember Before the knockouts, from 1989-2003, Roy didn't lose. Everybody eventually falls. Ali wasn't the same fighter at 35, as he was at 30 or younger. Roy fell fast because the weight drain and Tarver caught him with a great left hand. Had Tarver not landed that left, who knows maybe Roy would have won and things would have went different.

wear and tear isnt just in the ring... if you have twice the training camps, twice the running, jump rope, twice the bag work and sparring...

and dont say its a past prime thing coz hopkins is older and still beating the best..

First of all primes are different for everyone, its not a certain age and thats it...

fernando vergas is 32, hes DONE... past his prime, Gatti is 35, past his prime...

Second of all... on Hopkins, the difference is... Oscar, Trinidad, Winky, and Pavlik ALL had to move up TWO weight classes to beat hopkins... and when hopkins moved up to fight tarver.. he had to lose 45 pounds, he was 220 for the rocky balboa movie... which is why he looked sluggish.. Hopkins beat all smaller guys... im not trying to diminish his achievements, but im not lying about this **** either...

There is no excuse for that... theres a reason, the reason is he as just knocked cold twice in a row... hes a human being, im pretty sure i understand his reluctance in the 3rd match with tarver... pretty much go 12 rounds dont get knocked out was the overall plan there... Hopkins Beat Johnson at 160 years ago.. and he beat tarver after tarver lost 45 pounds from the rocky movie... And as far as Roy losing to those guys ... Bernard stayed at MW for 10 years, while roy continued to move up and move up, and then move down... when ur 35 years old, the body can only take so much yo-yoing... its no coincidence the very next fight after heavyweight, at light heavyweight, Roy looked absolutely exhausted for the first time in his career...

Tarver
Glenn Johnson
somebody needs to tell Roy B-Hop is 3-0, 2 KO against that trio.....
Roy is 2-3 with no KO's also in 2 of them 3 losses he was stretched.

I love Roy but he's not keepin' it Real........Hopkins has passed Roy now its up to Roy to catch up.......a win on Nov. 8 would give his claim just a little more weight.
