He got lazy twice is your opinion, not fact.
Lacy's not that good to begin with which is why we'll never know how good he could've been.
From bad beatings? Yeah, you're right. Clinton Woods and Julio Gonzalez didn't get beat up bad at all. Neither did James Toney.
Anyway, I'm done nitpicking so I can be involved in a cute argument. When you're good, you're good. When you're not as good...it shows.
Thats your opinion on Lacy, not a fact.
Woods and Gonzalez losses are not comparable to Lacys. Which has been my point from square one. They didnt exactly go on to conquer the world either.Comment

He's just the next guy most likely to beat Joe, there's always going to be someone because some cynics just want to see Joe lose.
Let it go.
I think Calzaghe takes a UD having considered this again lately. He just has too many elements to his game. If he was even nearly as aggressive as Johnson as he sometimes is, he'd have more accuracy, hurt less I accept, but land more and adapt to do so.
Dawson still looks confused at times, or at least not totally comfortable or sure of how he's going to respond to something. Calzaghe would dance night fever around him, use the south paw stance better than him, throw a few punches within a second, and feck off. Dawsons not responding better for that, so a Calzaghe UD.Comment

Kris,
For a fighter there's ALWAYS a next time. But when you're ranked in the top five pound for pound then retiring against a washed up champ isn't the way to go...especially when there are so many questions about your own career.
But like I said, who WOULDN'T want to see Joe face Dawson or Hopkins again?Comment

he wants to retire undefeated not embarrased..dawson is younger, stronger and faster..he's no kessler.and imo would overwelm calzaghe and probally stop him..tarver was on defense the entire fight and thats the only reason he saw the final bell had he let his hands go he wouldve been brutally ko'd mid fightComment

Dawson vs Joe would be good to see, but so would RJJ vs Hopkins 2, or ODL vs Margarito, Pac vs JMM 3, Wlad vs Vitali, Hopkins vs Kessler.
It doesn't mean their going to happen, and you don't hear people complaining about those anywhere near as much, infact combined probably at times. So it underlines the fact some people just can't handle Joe retiring undefeated.
I know RJJ isn't the toughest fight out there, but it's tougher than Pavlik. It's a big money, big name, big event old rival big matchup and retirement fight, who can blame him. If he'd have fought Pavlik he'd be another that becomes hugely over rated over night so there's no winning, and Dawson is a last minute trump card who didn't even get past Dawson in a huge number of peoples view.
Don't wana exchange non stop about it either with respect imdazed, let the thread run it's course...Comment
