I dont get that really, its because he doesnt want lose. Its the only logical answer.

Where is more money at, 70% of free HBO Derrick Harmon fight.

OR 45% -55% of a Bernard Hopkins PPV?

if they both continue fighting, its the only fight that makes sense....whoelse should roy fight after calzaghe???? dont say dawson......

actually thats about a 63-37 split, you do the math.......

but i remember b-hop offering 50-50, and the winner could take a 60-40, roy said no, hops fought calzaghe.....roy jones, and i kno thats your favorite fighter, is a known bull**** negotiator....

jones hopkins should be 60-40 to the winner....not off rip......

but **** what calzaghe and jones say, there will be no other fights for either guy, unless they do a rematch, the demand will be too big to not fight hopkins.....

if either of these guys fight dawson, they get handled, but hopkins gives him the most trouble. still a bad move, the old guys should stick to fighting each other..........
Actually, Roy Jones is the one that counter offered 60-40 to the winner, and B-Hop didn't reply.

B-Hop also said that if G-Leon did a poll about how had the better legacy, that the people would pick him over Jones, and that's why it shouldn't be 50-50.

G-Leon did the poll, and Jones won the poll 60-40.

Then B-Hop never said another word and went to fight Wright instead.

          It's simple really:

B-Hop should have taken the fight for 60-40 in 2001/2002 when it was offered. That was fair money back then because Roy was p4p #1, was the bigger name, and already had a win over Hopkins.

Hopkins didn't bite and said that it wasn't really 40% for him because Don King was going to take his cut out of Hopkins purse. That's not really Roy's problem.

Also, Hopkins didn't want to entertain the notion of going up to 175 and was insisting the fight take place at 168 (a weight that Jones hadn't fought at in 5 years.

It's funny how Hopkins had no problem going all the way up to 175 to meet Tarver a few years later.

Then the BS that Hopkins pulled in 2006 (before he fought Tarver) and 2007 (before he fought Winky) was ridiculous.

Roy has every right to be pissed at him. I don't believe Hopkins has ever been serious about trying to avenge his loss to Roy, until maybe now, 8 years after the fight would have really meant something, and 5 years after Roy was definitely past his best.

          • I'm not saying that Hopkins was/is scared of Roy, but if he really wanted that rematch, it was on the table for him in fair terms and he didn't take it for whatever reason.

For the record, I think Roy Jones in 2001/2002 would have won handily.

            • Negotiation tactics by RJJ. If HBO wants the fight then they will make the fight. If RJJ puts ***azhe to sleep then I guarantee they will make that fight.

Roy aint no one dimensional fighter like Pavlik. RJJ is just as crafty as Hopkins and I doubt he is worried about a man he beat in his prime.

                • I think another reason this fight may never happen is that RJJ can't stand Delahoya either and I doubt he wants to deal with GB promotions and make them money.
