Jones is/was to this day the ONLY fighter that "truly beat" HOP.... That actually had him saying "I lost that fight", and the public agreeing with no dispute.

totally was. hbo and the judges knew they could milk calzaghe for some more mega fights while they thought hopkins was gonna retire. boxing is a business after all. they only care about money not the integrity of the sport.

yeah you probably had one too many sips. lampley would say "theres another 4 punch combo by calzaghe!" even though nothing landed and hopkins countered him perfectly. or "calzaghe is showboating!" after getting hit flush. only an idiot would showboat after getting hit with a combo but yeah calzaghe is that good i guess.

I dont know, Hopkins landed at a higher percentage for sure, but Calzaghe controlled the fight and just landed so many punches over the course of the fight. He drowned Hopkins down the stretch. Bernard looked great in a few rounds, but in the others I do not think he was landing consistantly enough.
I would like to watch the fight again, to be honest.
I scored it 115-112 for Calzaghe the first time I watched it.

O he landed, remember once again Hop didn't have the defense he has now and Roy would throw from all angels not just to the face. He actually landed Clean, unlike Joe against a more defensive and very slick fighter. As for his face I bet it looked better than it did VS Joe since he was about 15 or so years younger. Public, judges and fans all agreed on the outcome of the fight. That explains all.

Not so much on Joe's SD outcome.

Still my point is everyone is arguing about it and Hop's face as he stated was clean. If he did land it should have looked like Kessler's, who's face wasn't too bad but one could tell he was slapped around.

I don't recall hardly any shots that were clean like Roy's were when he beat young Hop. Hop was the one landing clean shots. Joe swung his hands more.

He clearly won 8 rounds.
Roy and Hopkins were both at a young age, Hopkins had more professional fights than Roy, though Roy had more amateur experience.
