Nahh. Honestly if they fought now, B-Hop would win a pretty easy decision. I think he would have won a decision at any point in the last five or so years to be honest. Jones doesn't have the ****e anymore to beat Hopkins. Hopkins is still one hell of a fighter and Jones doesn't have the speed, or reflexes to beat him as he did earlier. What does Jones still have that could actually nullify Hopkins and make him lose?

As we saw against Pavlik, and while some may disagree, Calzonie, he still has a lot left in the tank and can go a solid, maybe even hard, twelve rounds punching and moving. Jones doesn't have that anymore and needs to take breaks throughout. His defense also now leaves a bit to be desired, whereas Hopkins has become more difficult to hit than ever.

B-Hop has better stamina, better defense, better footwork, better reflexes and the ability to actually punch when he sees the openings. Jones has slightly better speed (maybe) now and maybe better power still but that is about it. We also know that power wouldn't be a factor against B-Hop and the speed would be slightly nullified by Jones not being able to pull the trigger when needed as much.

Even Calslappy is looking pretty ****e compared to five years ago. I don't think anyone that has actually watched more than one or two of his latest fights would think he is still in his prime. Not even close. Nonetheless, he is still closer to it than Jones.

I'm a Calzaghe fan, personally, just as I'm a fan of many other fighters, but I think I look at him with a much less bias view than the ones that predict a KO win by Jones (is that a farking riot?), and I just don't really see it happening. He (Roy) hasn't jumped in and tried to finish an opponent in awhile...didn't KO Tito, for Christ's sake, even though he was there to be had, FAR more vulnerable than Calzaghe was even in the amature ranks...

Anyway, a TKO (not a KO, that won't happen) win by Jones is possible, but only early in the fight, and only if Roy lets it all hang out, going for broke from the opening bell. Even then, it's highly unlikely. Joe's chin is very solid and the return fire he gives will cause Roy to shut down quickly and start picking his shots, waiting to counter, hoping to sway the judges in the first 7 or 8 rounds before he gasses and has to finish being purely defensive.

That's my take, anyway. I can't see anything else happening, unless Roy does decide to let it all hang out early, doesn't get the TKO win he hopes for and gasses by mid-rounds because he spent too much early and ends up getting TKO'd himself late.

I mean, c'mon, guys...Glencoffe Johnson was able to put leather on Roy fairly consistantly, and you think Calzaghe won't? I know Jones is in better shape now, physically and mentally, than he was in that fight, but I still don't think he'll be able to keep up with Joe's work rate much past mid rounds, and even early he'll lose a round or two.

Calzaghe by decision (by 2 rounds, I think), or late TKO if Roy gasses too badly. Only two ways for this fight to end unless the stars are all aligned in Roy's favor and he catches Joe with just the right combination, gets him hurt, throws some more, and gets a TKO stoppage, BEFORE the 5th. Chances of this are below 15%, half that if Calzaghe chooses to not worry about busting up his hands and sets down on his punches.

                  That is all.
I'll go with this also, but I do give Jones a big chance.

One more thing -- Calzaghe ought to be fighting like an animal for his final fight, and I think he will. He no longer needs to protect his hands, so if he can endure the pain for 30 minutes it could be a rough night for Jones. Calzaghe does have power, but only uses it when he really has to.

Im going with Roy in this one....even at 39 he looked pretty fast...his jab is stiff..and I think thats what will throw off Calzaghe....RJ also has that winky style d now....I predict a 7-5 victory in Jones favor....and its at 175 again a weight Joe C doesnt look as good.

Yeah, I agree, 'cause Jones knocked out fighters that were so much better than a prime Calslappy in two rounds or less.
