Roy showed against Tarver and Johnson that he cant pull the trigger when he is in with a top level guy. He was badly beaten in these fights, he is so afraid to get hit that he just covers up and avoids fighting. The third Tarver fight proved what Roy had left. Roy did nothing, just covered up and hoped to go 12 rounds, even though he made no effort to win the fight. He was too scared that his chin would fail him again. He looked like **** against a couple year retired Tito, who had to move up in weight to fight Roy. Roys only chance is to nail Joe with a quick counter punch (like what Hopkins dropped Joe with early) and hope for the knockout early. Cause Roy might be going to sleep again (depending if Roy comes to fight) and if he continues his defensive style of fighting, he loses a UD.

    Joe Calzaghe UD

I just can't find a justifiable reason why this poll has been nearly 50-50 all the way.

Calzaghe will most probably outbusy RJJ to win. Roy will win some rounds along the way and look better doing so and win his more clearly, but he won't be able to sustain it.

I pray Roy can turn back the clock, but if your body can't do it, then it can't do it.

I just want Roy to make it super-competitive. Calzaghe has no power, so Roy has nothing to fear in that respect.

This is a ridiculous statement that I see repeated verbatim on here.

Joe has no real one punch power anymore, but I can see Joe getting a TKO if Roy starts opening up. Calzaghe hurt both Kessler and Lacy, so hurting Roy is not out of the question.

No way, Most people would tell you Roy is damn near shot. It's a lack of respect for Calzaghe. I don't think much of Calzaghe at all myself, but I do know that a shot Roy Jones can't beat a prime Joe Calzaghe. It's not happening.

Let's be clear about it. If this fight happens in 2002, it's Roy by a 2nd round KO. Joe Calzaghe is nowhere near the fighter Roy was at his best, and I wouldn't give him a prayer. These polls are 50/50 because most people think an old Roy Jones is still good enough to beat Joe. If he is, well, Joe is pretty much finished as far as legacy goes.

Everybody thinks Roy is done, but, everybody thought Hopkins was on a serious decline until last Saturday.

But I think Calzaghe is waaaaaaaaaaaay better than Pavlik. Check my posts before Pavlik-Hopkins. The only reason I thought Pavlik would beat Hopkins is because B-Hop is 43. Pavlik is a terrible, terrible fighter just like Margarito. They walk forward and throw punches and don't stop, and that will get you slaughtered against somebody who knows how to actually box. I've never given a shot Roy a chance of beating a prime Calzaghe, but I figured a 43 year old B-Hop still had a chance because, well, Pavlik sucks
