This really exposed Pavlik as being a 1 dimensional, simple fighter that isn't intelligent enough to adapt. Hes tough, but that's it. I don't care for Pavlik anymore, he was an enormous let down. Really disappointing.

Good ***** for bein at the fight.
I didn't notice the crowd first cheering for Pavlik and then started cheering for Hopkins.
Pavlik is a tough guy. But i think this was a good test for him so he can gauge where he is as a fighter.
I do think that he needs to trade up his management team.
Pavlik's corner didn't know what to do against Hopkins.
That was cold in Hopkins corner when Asheem kept refering to Pavlik as "joker" damn, that's solid right there.
In the later rounds, it looked like Pavlik didn't want to be in there. But he's got too much heart to quit. MAaadd props.

I think that Hopkins seemed better conditioned tonight than against especially Calzaghe, and Winky. Even more than Tarver but it's hard to say. Hopkins has never tired in his fights before the Winky fight, or the Calzaghe fight and didn't tire here as much as he did in those two fights. Is that because he was better conditioned? What Joe or Winky did? Against a punching bag in Pavlik? I'll have to watch the tape of this fight before I can reasonably answer that.
I noticed that if he had been younger he could have put Pavlik away from the 8 or 9th onward but didn't think he would. He would hurt Pavlik and back off from getting tired from throwing.
Pavlik was completely brought into Hopkins game plan so it must be pretty easy to preserve energy when the fight is completely your way.
As for how much he has left? I don't know. I noticed the Pavlik glaring weaknesses from ringside so I'm sure Hopkins did too hence making it an easy fight. Again I'll have to watch the fight on tape next week. I just got back and this is all from memory.
People complaining that this boosts Joe's resume will just have to accept the fact that it does. Roy Jones' resume was boosted every single time Bernard went out and fought for the next 15 years and the guy still isnt done.

But that said I do think Winky and Calz (as is now shown) are in another league than Pavlik. I still don't think that's what caused Hopkins to gas out but that's based on watching how Hopkins fights. As I said, I don't think Hopkins HAD to use a lot of conditioning in this fight because Pavlik was broken by round 4-5. After that it was simply an easy punching bag experience.

Calzaghe is quicker, punches from different angles, has faster hands, better footspeed and kept Hopkins occupied all night long. He made him use his legs more than he wanted to and adapted around the 5th round to make BHop fight at his pace. Sure, he didnt land nearly enough clean punches that he wouldve liked but he did land. Ive said it before and I'll say it again - NO ONE looks good against Bernard Hopkins - especially this version - all you can do is get the job done.
Pavlik couldnt even land a slap - he completely allowed BHop to dictate the pace of the fight and was so damn slow and predictable with his attacks.

You were right about Pavlik. I was not sold on him either but did think he could win based on Bernard's age. So what Bernard did here is pretty impressive based on that. Again I wasn't the one pumpin up Pavlik around here, so I mean good call on that one. But whatever.
Clearly Pavlik cannot adjust to someone who can change styles. So he would lose to Joe based on that alone unless Joe suddenly became very old overnight.

Taylor's hometown fans were disappointed with his run of boring fights, a couple unconvincing decision wins, and his comments after the Spinks fight about "fighting whoever paid him the most money."
