I think it may have made a slight difference but I think Pavlik was waiting for Hopkins to tire, that was his plan and he didn't have a Plan B. Hopkins was amazing last night and even though I had money on Pavlik by decision, I couldn't be mad because it was just amazing watching a 43 year old perform an absolute shut out on a P4P top ten 26 year old champion. I have a new level of respect for B-Hop after last night, was a brilliant fight.

Either way, atleast now people will give ANY boxer that goes up in weight class to fight better competition some respect.

not severly, but he is clearly a middleweight naturally, and needs to stay there!

This makes you appreciate fighter who goes up in weight and were still able to win and be competitive, Pavlik look indifferent in the taylor 2 fight also and that was at 166.

              One thing we agree on.

Weight was only a small factor. Hopkins said leading up to the fight, will Pavlik be able to survive that initial shock of being in with a real veteran. He didn't, he was confused, out manoeuvred, out witted and schooled.

People didn't think it was a problem going in. 10 out of 11 boxingscene staff writers picked Pavlik...or something like that.

NO. Pavlik is just a fighter who can beat guys when he has a size advantage. When he is evenly matched, he is average.

                  He is Hatton.

it was hopkins' superior technical skill. its been well known that pavlik is one dimensional (which is mostly his trainer's fault)
