Tony just was not the best out there..nor was little Jotto.
Oscar at 154 > Tony..Cotto
Hatton was a fight EVERYBODY wanted to see.Now after Floyd KO'd him..Ricky is written off like NOBODY wanted to see him fight Floyd.
It's not Floyd's fault Arum didn't let his punching bags loose to get embarrassed.
Arum could have made Floyd/Margarito-Cotto but he didn't..and you haters put it all on Mayweather.
At least Floyd manned-up and gave Castillo an immediate rematch..Look at the way Tony is dealing with Williams.
Hold that mexican to the same standards you hold to Mayweather.
Don't be a hypocrite.
The WBO had to FORCE Tony into fightinging Williams or else strip him...and you got nerve to ****-talk Floyd.
**** outta here.

Thats why i asked 2501 how do you determine who the best is?
Just imagine the criticism had Floyd chose Tony over Baldomir right after the latter had just defeated Judah and became undesputed Welterweight Champion.
That would have looked like the biggest duck move in history.
Baldomir UNIFIED Champ > Margarito WBO "Champ"

there is no question floyd has the tools and gifts to beat the taller, bigger fighter. but for Floyd, it would be a fight where he would have to do the moonwalk for 12 rounds straight. it would be another performance like the baldomir fight and at this stage, boring ass win wouldn't do anything but hurt his marketability.

Thats why i said it nice that the guy retired, He cannot win no matter what he does, If he had gone after Margarito (Who was unknown at the time) he would have been slated for avoiding a BIG welterweight in Baldomir.
I remember Brian Kenney accusing Mayweather of ducking Baldomir on his show, Now after fighting Baldomir he still got slated that he should have fought Margarito instead.

I dont know why you guys get so offended because the rest of the world expects Floyd to fight top competition. Why is it such a crime to expect Floyd to fight the top fighters in divisions? The figthers that could give him the most problems.

Nobody is offended by it, it actually quite the opposite..people like to question him no matter what he does..That is the real problem.
JMM was questioned last night by a poster on why he seem not to fancy a fight with Campbell and i seem to remember you defending that accusation..so its nothing new here.

2004-5 were the the bad floyd years. One fight in 2004. Then he moves up to fight Bruselles then overachiever then Gatti who Mitchell who Zoo blew out.
That was his bad streak but I guess maybe he was getting comfortable at the higher weights.
He did the right thing financially that's for sure.
His legacy is forever cemented at super feather and lightweight that's for sure.
It's just that we had so many good welters many of us would have loved to see him fight.
