Someone made a good point about Hopkins managing to be slightly more active in his last fight with Calzaghe than with Winky Wright. Roy had a ****ed arm in his last fight. He'll be training in a not disimillar way to Hopkins to be as active as possible so could and should squeeze out and extra 10% or so than his last fight. Still not enough, but people may be forgetting Roy will be training specifically for Joe, and he's determined.
I still don't think it's going to be enough, though couped with his very intelligent boxing brain, and still faster hands than Calzaghe I think it could be closer than many believe. I think I'll gauge closer to the fight.
It depends on what Roy and what Joe shows up. I have more confidence oddly in Roy at least not ****ing up, and putting a good performance in. He's experienced, likes the venue, will be more comfortable and eager to please his home fans whom are eager to be pleasantly surprised.
Calzaghe showed in the Hopkins fight he can be a little to eager early on, and can get caught out with a right counter when he's in one of his funny blind angles. He admires Roy a little too much and might not take the confidence and tactical awareness, adaptability into the fight that he otherwise might against more one dimensional opponents like Lacy and Kessler (latter only slightly so).
However, if Calzaghe shows up as 100%, is slick, cautious early on and adapts well to Roy, pays him no respect and has the confidence to tease such an opponent even though his hands for once are slower than his, than I think Calzaghe could and should run away with a UD.
Just depends on which Roy and Joe show up, and their mind sets in the fight.Comment

I agree with this, especially the bolded. Calzaghe needs to be relaxed and do his thing, if he does he will win and look good doing so.Someone made a good point about Hopkins managing to be slightly more active in his last fight with Calzaghe than with Winky Wright.
