Because Calzaghe said he wanted to fight him. What more do you need?
    Good point.

Another thing is that Calzaghe keeps on saying things about Pavlik. Haye speaks about Wlad, but Wlad doesn't bother responding.

If you go back and forth with someone, making claims about fight offers and who the better fighter is, then it's going to make people anticipate a fight between you more.

I like JC, but he doesn't help his cause with some of the comments he makes.

Yet Kelly Pavlik doesn't need a fight to get a shot at Calzaghe? And SMW, in contrast, is a lot stronger then HW. It is deep with talent, compared to HW and the MW divisions. The strength of the SMW division means, Pavlik should have more reasons to have a fight before getting a shot at the champ in Calzaghe?

Also when comparing David Haye and Pavlik? With their resume? Its rather similar. Pavlik has beat the top dog twice! And Haye has beaten 2 of the top dogs at cruiser?

Now correct me if im wrong. I admit i get way to opinonated at times. But this is just double standards!
Because Edison Miranda and Jermaine Taylor are nobodies..

Pavlik may not have a fantastic resume, but his win over Taylor put him above anyone at MW or SMW IMO. I don't believe in triangle theory, but Pavlik beat Taylor, who beat Hopkins, who beat Tarver and Wright. So with those two ruled out, Dawson is the only other guy who, it can be argued, deserves a shot at Calzaghe.

I think Pavlik has proven more than Dawson, but it's debatable. If Dawson was on HBO, and Pavlik on Showtime, would they be rated in the same way they are now? Not in my opinion.

I think that part of it is that Wlad is fighting Povetkin (tough fight against an unbeaten mandatory) whereas Calzaghe is facing Jones, who is years past his best. If Calzaghe was facing Dawson, and Wlad was facing Rahman, then I think you would have more of a point.

So why should Pavlik who has done **** all at 168 let alone 175, think he's worthy of a shot.

People like Dawson, Tarver, Jones and Johnson have all done something at 175 thus should be ahead of the Youngstown Hypocrite in line.

Hell even the guys at 68 should be ahead of him.

Lewis was born in West Ham, London, England in 1965 to Jamaican born parents,[2] and moved to Kitchener, Ontario, Canada in 1977 at the age of 12. He attended Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute for high school, where he excelled in the sports of Canadian football, soccer and basketball.[3] He eventually decided that his favourite sport was boxing. He became a dominant amateur boxer and won the world amateur junior title in 1983.[4]

The next year, Lewis represented Canada as a Super Heavyweight in the 1984 Summer Olympics held in Los Angeles. He advanced to the quarter-finals, where he lost a controversial decision to American Tyrell Biggs and settled for a fifth-place finish.

Lewis chose not to turn professional after the Olympics, and instead fought four more years as an amateur, hoping for a second chance to win a gold medal. After winning several more amateur titles during those years, he travelled to Seoul, South Korea for the 1988 Summer Olympics and achieved his goal. In the gold medal match, Lewis defeated future world champion Rid**** Bowe by a second round technical knockout.

Having achieved that goal, Lewis declared himself a professional boxer and moved back to England. He claims he'd always considered himself British, but failed to win the hearts and minds of British fans who feel his "coming home" was more about the convenience of his career than homesickness. The early part of his pro career was filled with knock outs of journeymen, and he quickly rose in the world rankings.

If Pavlik beats Hopkins clearly, would you agree that he should move to the front of the queue (if Calzaghe doesn't retire)?
