Lewis was born in West Ham, London, England in 1965 to Jamaican born parents,[2] and moved to Kitchener, Ontario, Canada in 1977 at the age of 12. He attended Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute for high school, where he excelled in the sports of Canadian football, soccer and basketball.[3] He eventually decided that his favourite sport was boxing. In the gold medal match, Lewis defeated future world champion Rid**** Bowe by a second round technical knockout.

He claims he'd always considered himself British, but failed to win the hearts and minds of British fans who feel his "coming home" was more about the convenience of his career than homesickness. The early part of his pro career was filled with knock outs of journeymen, and he quickly rose in the world rankings.

Im not against a Pavlik vs Calzaghe fight.......far from it.

Im just commenting on the clear double standard. Why does Pavlik not have to "beat some contenders" too?

Hopkins is a contender at LHW.......so yeah thats a good way to get the fight if Joe doesnt retire. Of course by that time, Dawson may be the next bandwagon people will be jumping on.........and frankly he'd deserve it more if he gets by Tarver.

So I basically mixed their opinions up and thought that both had no sense.
