I don't think you can really blame him for the bold though

You have to respect Mosley's resume. Win or lose he always steps up to take on the biggest names. He and Taylor are the top two in the sport at taking all challengers.

I'm sure Gold Boy has something to do with it. Take a moment, who are the most publicly known GBP heads? Hopkins, Mosley and Hoya of course. All those are fighting way past their times and that has allot more to do with keeping the brand alive than boxing legacies. Mosley should have retired after Collazo, Hopkins after the Winky Wright gift and Oscar after Mayorga. They all still put up good losing fights but prime versions of themselves would have probably win those for them. Prime Oscar at 154lbs would be just too much for Floyd (and i'm a big Floyd fan), Bernard would finish Calzaghe in the first round after the KD he wouldn't have let go, Williams vs Quintana 2 style and if he didn't he would easily outpoint him. Cotto wouldn't be landing half those right hands to Mosley face and Mosley would be fast enough to get there first. (Side note: Part of the reason boxing experts say Mosley never had a defense for the right hand is that he was so fast he would always get there first, thus not feeling the need to develop such defense).
Had they retire on time we would have much more experienced YOUNG fighters (more tv dates, possibly even more prospects) fighting among each other and making to championship fights before their 30's.

I'll give you the GBP thing that really helps him out. But Shane isn't doing anything that hasn't been done by many old fighters before him. I wholeheartedly disagree with you saying they holding those young fighters back experience wise. That just doesn't make sense. Those young fighters can get plenty of fights to gain experience. Truthfully whats wrong is that young prospects don't want to fight each other and every TV station wants to ride GBP jock when a lot **** they doing is hurting boxing but it makes money.

As for the Mosley defense thing you are partially right but that also speaks about the people he fought. Because in his prime Forrest cleaned his ass up with a right hand.

He could have ducked Winky... but he never did. He fought the significantly bigger man for boxing respect and not for money. He was amazing as a lightweight. Hell even when he loses he gives his respect to the other fighter.

I tend to dis consider the Forrest and Wright fights because those were well off Shane Mosley's weight class and they were stronger/bigger than he was.
I gotta tell you, i don't like Golden Boy one bit. I don't like the fact he have such old fighters on ppv any better. Oh well, they are not seeing any of my hard earned money any time soon.

I'll give you the bigger/ stronger thing and weight for Winky Wright. I'll give you size for Forrest but Weight is not factor considering Forrest beat Shane at 147 and is fighting at 154 currently. Which is the same weight Shane is about to fight at next.

I hate GBP also if you gonna make a old fighter PPV why not put your young talented fighters on the undercard.

GBP sucks...tredh. We all know that they don't have the good youth foundation to really solidify many of the PPV cards that they are given by HBO.
