Other than that, he beat a lot of good solid level opponents like Griffin,Hill, Gonzalez etc.

Hopkins was a good win retrospectively considering what he went on to achieve but Bernard wasnt nearly as groomed as Roy when they fought.

Then he fought a lot of guys like Telesco, Richard Frazier and Eric Lucas who were just nowhere near his league and quite embarrassing mismatches.

Yeah, there was a point in his prime where Roy fought a string of Civil Service Workers. I was like WTF???

James Toney was in his prime but he wasn't at his best, but that still doesn't take a away Jones's win. The fact that Toney came in out of shape was his fault and he paid the price for it. Just take a look at everything he accomplished after that loss. Becoming the universally recognized cruiser weight champion and also winning a heavyweight belt so clearly Toney was still a monster. Tarver is one of the best light heavyweights of any generation and Jones has a win over him as well( even though it was very controversial). Roy beat plenty of good to great fighters in their prime.

Exaggerate much? Tarver is very underrated, but this is overstating the case. He is a good LHW of this generation.

Tarver was looking pretty dominate before Jones came back down to light heavy. He avenged his loss to Eric Harding( by knockout) and with the exception of Hopkins, he beat everyone that he loss to and was undisputed light heavyweight champion with wins over the best names of that era. I'd say he could crack the top 12 greatest light heavyweights and certainly if he beat Dawson.

roy jones always had skills, but the only notable win he ever had was against bernard hopkins.

james toney win MIGHT have meant a little something...

the rest was just him looking good over lesser competition. not to say they all ****** but, they werent the level he should have been competing at. the light heavyweight division was alot uglier then.

also i dont care what anyone says, a win over john ruiz doesnt mean ****.
