Did Roy Jones ever beat a fighter in their prime?

the win over Hopkins has to mean something, Bernard was a good fighter even at that point. He was the #1 ranked middleweight.

considering thulani malinga beat nigel benn and others after roy koed him says that malinga must have been a pretty good fighter.

Toney has had weight problems his whole career, but still beating Toney is never an easy task.

Beating Mike Mccallum was a good win, yes Mccallum was 39...hes a hall of fame fighter. If Jermain Taylor beat Roy now, we'd give some credit for it. Its still a good, just not a great one.

I think startching Virgil Hill in under 5 rounds is kind of impressive.

How about not getting hit for a whole round? I know that was against Pazienza but still...a whole round without getting hit? thats not normal.lol

Having trouble with a fighter(who also gave James Toney trouble twice) and then blowing him out in a rematch is pretty cool.

fighting a guy whos a top 10 heavy after starting your pro career at 155 pounds has to mean something, even if its John Ruiz.

Making Reggie Johnson look like a sparring partner isn't the easiest thing to do.

Winning a heavyweight belt and then moving down and winning the light heavyweight title is a nice accomplishment.

I also think the fact that hes fighting a top 5 p4p fighter at 39 years old after three horrible loses proves he must have some heart...because he could have easily retired after the glen johnson debacle.

So yeah I think hes had pretty cool career...

By the IBF standards. Hopkins wasn't close to the #1 middleweight at all.
