Yup, they hate Floyd, Merchant especially. I honestly don't think he was ever able to come to terms with when Floyd turned down the six fight, twelve million dollar HBO deal.

Thats nothing though, I watched a Brit broadcast of Floyd v Someone and the hate was incredible. They couldn't have been any harsher if the commentators started chanting "BOOOORING! BOOORING!"

People can say that Tarver is not great as much as they want to, but he beat Jones twice( many believe he beat him all three times) got his hands on every major belt at light heavyweight( and was undisputed champion at one time), beat the most recognized light heavyweights of his era and with the exception of Hopkins, beat everyone that he loss to. That's pretty impressive if you ask me and many light heavyweight greats that are ranked on the top 10 can not say that they did that. He was also an Olympic bronze medalist( many people believe that he deserved the win over Jirov for the gold).

:EDIT: I am not pumping Tarver up, we just can't deny the man's accomplishments. I was never and I'm still not all that impressed with him, but i respect his contribution to the division. He put in the work.

Hmm. It seems like you might be pumping him up the teeniest little bit, but I forgive you. Like I said, he's had an impressive career and has achieved a lot, he deserves respect and so will dawson if he beats him.

No, it was before that, I think it might have been Sosa maybe. Floyds rep for being boring is quite undeserved IMO, he's had a fairly even mix of good and mediocre fights in his career. I guess it might be that he insists on telling everyone he is totally awesome that does it though.

He cleaned out the entire division before he ran into Hopkins. I still don't see how i am pumping him up( i really have no reason to since i was never a big fan of his). I agree with your overall point though, at least you are reasonable.

This is Dawson talking him his upcoming fight with Tarver. I see this as an even 50/50 fight but of course I'm picking Chad. The fight could really go either way but his overall ability will simply be too much IMO.

Some of you either have amnesia, short memory's,or selective memories. James Toney was considered the best fighter in the world when he fought Jones. He was unbeaten and very much in his prime. Who else was Jones supposed to fight? A resurrected Sugar Ray Robinson? Jones fought who was best at the time. Some people get to obsessive with this P4P bull****. P4P is subjective. That not an official rating.
