Why are people against Pacquiao-De La Hoya?

I dont get it at all. This is Pacquiao were talkin about...he hasnt been in a dull fight since I dont know when, how is it possibly going to be boring?

and what other fights would yall rather have?
De La Hoya vs Margarito? Watching De La Hoya get steamrolled would be interesting, but not competitive.
Pacquiao vs Marquez 3? you bet I want that. but not so soon. their second fight was so much better because it had time to develop and intensify over a few years.

not to mention that this fight will be epic with all the hype. yall can say that its a dumb fight because De La Hoya is so much bigger than Pacquiao, but not really. Pacquiao is huge nowadays. hes been weighing around 147 on fight night since he moved up to 130lbs.
and if you havent noticed, De La Hoya hasnt fought a natural Welterweight in over 2 years...no, hes been fighting guys that came up from Lightweight(ish) and I wouldnt exactly say hes been beating their ass.

I think this is a very interesting fight, and one thats going to be entertaining and competitive. just wish they would do better with the undercard.

Darchinyan is an exciting fighter but I'm not rooting for him to fight Pacquiao any time soon.

its da SIZE!! a good big man usually beats a good little man...jus like in the Mayweather fight oscar had the wieght class, glove brand, glove size, ring size & money all 2 his advantage & manny is no Mayweather. manny jus moved up in weight & now he's gotta move up again? thats bull****!

If p4p number 1 Manny thinks he can move up 12 pounds and beat DLH, lets see if he can.

Barrera 2. Sure it was barrera's fault, but you asked.

its because both fighters have other opponents waiting that could actually give us better fights

Exactly! One fight at 135, and none at 140 or 147. If Manny pulls this off (Im willing to bet he doesn't) he will be regarded as one of the top all time greats by many people. Personaly, I think he needs to go back and clean out lightweight, and can do it if he chooses that route. Fighters today just seem to be after the money though. A reasonable person can't blame them, but as a fan vwe want more.

Oscar is about two years older since the Mayweather fight, and got his face pretty busted up by Steve Forbes. Forbes aint bad, but hes sure as hell aint Pacquiao, and theres no way he has the punching power of Pacquiao. and I think its pretty clear Pacquiao is bigger than Forbes as well.

Manny chose this fight himself. dont act like he had no choice or was forced into it. Oscar is fading, while Pacquiao is still in very good shape. I support Pacquiao for going up in weight so much for such a big fight, and at the same time I think he has a very good shot at winning.

the size differential just sounds like an interesting side story to the fight, if you ask me. no idea why people are so against it.
