Pacman & Oscar are both great fighters. Some so called "fans" would like you to believe otherwise. But I can't wait for the fight.

      like who?

like I said, I would rather wait for a Pacquiao-Marquez fight, because sometimes letting a fight build up over time makes it much, much better.

and who the hell could Oscar face that would be a better, more exciting fight?

Margarito would steamroll him. It wouldnt even be a competition. Williams would probebly easily beat him as well. Mora is boring, and I dont ever want to see him fight De La Hoya. total waste of a fight.

no, I aint gonna wait till JMM is 40, but he can wait a few months. think about it...what seems better. an immediate Pac-Marquez rematch right now, or one after Pacquiao has a win/a competitive loss to De La Hoya.

De La Hoya isnt quite as good nowadays as people think. Imagine Pacquiao's hand speed and power instead of Forbes.

and what other fights would yall rather have?
De La Hoya vs Margarito? Watching De La Hoya get steamrolled would be interesting, but not competitive.
Pacquiao vs Marquez 3? you bet I want that. but not so soon. their second fight was so much better because it had time to develop and intensify over a few years.

not to mention that this fight will be epic with all the hype. yall can say that its a dumb fight because De La Hoya is so much bigger than Pacquiao, but not really. Pacquiao is huge nowadays. hes been weighing around 147 on fight night since he moved up to 130lbs.
and if you havent noticed, De La Hoya hasnt fought a natural Welterweight in over 2 years...no, hes been fighting guys that came up from Lightweight(ish) and I wouldnt exactly say hes been beating their ass.

I think this is a very interesting fight, and one thats going to be entertaining and competitive. just wish they would do better with the undercard.
here is my problem with the fight

while I am not totally against it I do think it's ****ed that

***Oscar said he wanted a challenge yet went after a 135lb fighter to get it. Granted he is the p4p #1 at the moment BUT he is dwarfed by Oscar who is not considered a huge 147/154lb fighter to begin with

***Manny has been saying that once he makes the move to fight Oscar he wont go back down to 135 effectively killing a third JMM fight or any other matchup at lightweight. His only hope now is that Hatton beats Paulie and he ends his career fighting Ricky

***there isn't anything on the line at all. No titles, no true competitive nature, no score to settle (no I dont buy the Oscar reasoning)

it was for money, which isnt itself faultable, I just think that it holds boxing hostage because there could have been stronger matchups than them two facing each other

I just dont see pac's chin holding up for 12 rounds, oscar has some O.K power and I seen paquiao hurt a few times by smaller men.

like I said, Pacquiao is pretty huge. hes been weighing in on fight night at 147 anyway, when he was fighting at 130. plus you have to take into account that Oscar might have trouble getting to 147 after being at higher weights for so long. this evens out the size thing a bit. once upon a time Oscar was at 130 too...fighters can gain a lot of weight as their careers go on.

I frankly dont give a damn about titles anymore, theyre almost all worthless nowadays. forget the belts, this is a big fight on its own because of the fighters involved.
And I do believe its going to be a competitive fight.

I also believe the Marquez fight will end up happening. the rematch took a while to make, but it did. as long as Marquez keeps persuing Pacquiao, itll happen.

Not absolutely sure that Margarito would put on a complete beatdown on DLH…sounds crazy but if they fought at 154, Tony would be out of his element…as past it as he is, DLH still has better skill than Tony and he wouldn’t be enjoying such a size advantage…it would be an intriguing bout for as long as DLH can keep up..

As for PAC’s immediate future, honestly, I have a hard time believing that he’ll be able to just ‘fit-right-back’ at 135 nor have the same motivation for 135 paydays…I’m not a big fan of fighters moving up then going back down in the latter parts of their careers…the results are, for the most part, not favorable for those that play around with weight classes

i'm against this fight, but i'd be lying if i said i wasnt gonna watch...

I am with you on this, only I don't think this makes Pac an ATG if he wins. It is not a prime Dlh. Now, if he were to beat Margs, Williams, or even Clottey, I'd put Pac up against many an all time great. What Duran did was legendary when he beat Sugar. What Pac does if he beats Dlh is only a good win.
