Julio Cesar Chavez faced 3 of Puerto rico's top 20 fighters of all time, Juan La Porte, Edwin Rosario, and Hector Camacho. He clearly beat all three of them, so if you think he never beat anyone that says a lot about Puerto Rican boxing.

Chavez beat them decisively but none of them come close to Trinidad.

And I would not mention that Trinidad never lost to a mexican and he fought 3 top Mexican fighters of all time: Luis Ramon Campas, Oscar De La Hoya and Fernando Vargas!

EDIT: It says a lot about what you know about Puerto Rican boxing, not Puerto Rican Boxing itself it's a lot more accomplished than you are making it seem by dismissing some all time greats as "bums".

Rosario and Camacho had some serious lifestyle issues that def. diminished their abilities in the ring. It is widely said that Chavez waited for Camacho's downslide before fighting him. A guy with Camacho's talent should never lose to a punch me in the face type like Chavez...
