Joe Calzaghe Is Not A Light Heavyweight Champion

Youre not telling me anything I dont know, fighting at the catchweight they fought and not 175 meant Hop still had to cut muscle to get there and not come in at 175.The light heavyweight division is anything between 168 and 175. The rules are that you can't weigh over 175, not that you have to come in at that weight. Is there anything else you don't understand about boxing? How's about a brief run down of the queensbury rules, or a lesson in mandatory weight checks in the weeks and months leading up to the fight?Comment

It wasn't a catch weight. It was light heavyweight, Hopkins CHOSE to come in at 173, He could have came in at 175 but didn't. It was a light heavyweight fight, at light heavyweight, for the light heavyweight title, between 2 light heavyweights.Comment

Nope, they came in at the catchweight because Joe is a 168 pound fighter, so Hop agreed to do at a catchweight in a sense to help Calzaghe out, its done all the time.Comment

It wasn't a catchweight, they boxed at LHW. You don't have to be **** on 175, you just have to be under it, and above 168. That makes you LHW.
He won the Ring belt, which is considered to be the most prestigious of all, considering how difficult it is to get. If you don't choose to recognise it, then fair enough.
If you'd said simply, "Joe Calzaghe is not a LHW", I might have agreed with you...Comment

No they didn't. You need to actually look up on the fight before you make yourself look ****** like this.Comment

I knew it I knew it I knew it! Hopkins-Tarver wasn't for the belt after all since it was a catchweight of 174. Dammit!Comment
