    Yup,

Joe was caught by a great short right hand, and fell back and down. I laugh when people are like "Hopkins sudda gone 4 da kill he wudda PWNED Cal****lappy LOL!!!" or some **** like it..

Hopkins would have his hand full with the tempo and lateral movement of young Calzaghe.

Being that Hopkins actually beat Calzaghe, if they were both young he wouldn't have much trouble at all with him.

Either way, they bring in a lot of points. No doubt a prime Hopkins was much quicker and more accurate, and could throw those kind of quick counters 12 rounds instead of gassing late. It all had to do with age for Bernard Hopkins.
And lets not forget how sloppy, unbalanced and slugfest loving a young Calzaghe was. Oldkins almost knocked Calzaghe down when he was pulling those idiotic moves. Imagine prime Hopkins being in that position to make Joe pay.

Imagine if Hopkins fought him back when he threw 2 times as many punches, He'd probably knock Zaghe out. Calzaghe looked horrible vs Hopkins I can't see why Zaghe fans even bring this fight up.

The only thing Hopkins lacked in that fight was stamina and other things that all had to do with age.

I think some of these guys are just pulling our legs saying prime vs prime Calzaghe would KO Hopkins. JC hit him flush ONCE in the fight, and caught his attention. That was it. Hopkins however messed up his face, he knocked him down, he was the one landing accurate shots in the fight etc. Imagine prime Hopkins that never gassed, was even sharper and stronger.

What is undebatable is that Calzaghe has had the better career.

Don't bother disagreeing because you'll look like an idiot. Hopkins struggled with anyone his own size (except Tarver), lost two to Jermain Taylor, and only got famous in the first place for beating De La Hoya.

Joe fought world champs for ten years and always won. Hopkins left the ring seven times without victory

Joe is the smarter fighter, and the ballsier fighter. Hopkins landed ONE tricky punch in the first round, and looked for it the rest of the fight. Joe was one step ahead on every adjustment.

Giampa and Lederman gave Hopkins three rounds, but there were no clear Hopkins rounds after the first. Joe won at least seven clean rounds. You have to give every round to Hopkins just to make it sound close. Eleven rounds to Joe is a perfectly reasonable score

Hopkins was also more aggressive back then, and maintained his trade mark accuracy, I just can't see Calzaghe being able to **** past 8. Calzaghe is notorious for leaving his face open, Hopkins is notorious for having great defense.

Hopkins fought better fighters period. If Calzaghe fought all those fighter's he'd have lost. The only good name on his resume is Hopkins and he was 43, AND B-HOP pretty much beat him. Put him in his 30's, double the punches - increase the speed and there you have it. Calzaghe on the other hand looked like he always did only a bit less power. The thing is, when Zaghe had power he wasn't much of a boxer..leaving his face open and all.
