He was a power puncher who always relied on the big shot to end the fight. Any time he was ever in over his head he showed a fundamental lack of ability to adapt. (See the first 8 rounds against Oscar, the entire Hopkins fight, and the Wright fight.)

Cotto is superior to Tito is ever possible aspect of the game, save for power punching. He can box when he needs to, he moves his head well, great ring movement, he's a better technician, etc....

Tito could not run from Tony, because A.) he's too prideful and B.) he's too ****** to know how. So his only choice would be to brawl Margarito. It then becomes a question of who's chin or body would break first, and that's up for debate.

One thing I know for sure is that if Trinidad couldn't take it, he wouldn't last as long as Cotto did because he isn't smart enough to get out of the way of incoming damage.
see this is the problem that i got with self righteous *******s who watch three Trinidad fights and think they know what kinda fighter Trinidad was.then start threads about fantasy fights and don't want noob floyd fans voting in it.1 dimensional, are you ****ing kidding me?what the **** does that make a Margarito then?exactly how like oscar winky and hopkins is margarito?there's only one punch then can keep tito honest, and thats the jab something Margarito doesn't have.tito was at his finest counterpunching and this would be the kinda fight he'd look brilliant in.

Tito is bigger than Marg and has twice the power. Toe to toe against Tito he wouldn't have a chance.

Tito is too fast for Margs, and he hits too hard. Margs would crumble in 7 or less.

This guy is a homer. He probably thinks Camacho junior could beat Margs lol.

Yeah, right now. In Tito's prime, you wouldn't be uttering these words lol. Tito ran in marathons. If you boxed Tito you could win. If you brawled with him like Margs would, Margs would probably be out of boxing now if he ever fought a prime Tito.

Cotto fans lol. I understand that Tito beats Margs. But dissing Margs isn't the way to go since he knocked your man out. I don't think style wise Margs can match up to Tito. But don't use this platform to talk about what cotto could've or should've done. Tito fought men, and he moved up 3 weight classes. He is a class above Margs.

Hopkins couldn't even back Tito up. You think Margs can??? lol. You look at who Tito fought, and then look at who Margs fought. This fight isn't even a contest.

After sleeping on tihs question, I favor Tito but i would not be suprised either way. I think Tito would get knocked down early then get up and put whopping on Margarito. Margarito's only advantage is durability but any human body can only tolerate so much punishment.

If i was betting on this fight i would probably be betting on the underdog aslong as he was getting over +250. If the number were close i would probably just enjoy the fight with a couple side bets with friends and those bets would be on Tito.

I don't agree that Margarito is one-dimensional but everything you said is dead on. Felix Trinidad at welterweight was a versatile boxer-puncher who just so happened to have the KO power to knock you into next week. He'd box you early, patiently circling while occasionally lashing out with his bombs. After the third round or so, he'd have you all figured out. How long you lasted after that depended on how much you could take.
