Could Trinidad take Margarito's pressure for 12 rounds?

Plain and simple, Tito against Margarito would've be the same that
Tito vs Yori Boy Campas.

Margarito is no Campas. If he were, Oscar would not be running from him.

The_Bringers portrayal of Trinidad as a one dimensional punching machine is inaccurate. Granted Trinidad is not the boxer Cotto is, he is by no means ******, and by no stretch of the imagination a bad boxer.

Trinidad is extremely overrated. He makes for great highlight reels but that's about it. In a toe to toe war with Tony, I'm not sure who'd win. But anytime he was against someone with solid boxing technique he failed and failed miserably, even in the gift decision against De La Hoya he only won the last 4 rounds because Oscar gave them to him.

Regardless, the main questions that surround this fight is if Margarito could take Tito's shots and if Tito could take Margarito's pressure.

It's the kind of brawl that's any fight fan's wet dream.

Cotto is not Tito,

He hits harder and is taller. Tito carried his power all the way to 160.

No chance Margarito can pull off what he did with Cotto on Tito.

Problem is, Campas couldn't walk Tito back, I think Tony could. Tito can't fight that effectively backing up.

It's hard to say, we've never seen Trinidad in against such a big pressure fighter but we also haven't seen Margarito in against such a big puncher.

I'm not sure really.

First off, Miguel Cotto is a much better fighter than Felix Trinidad ever was. This always catches flack with Tito supporters but Trinidad was as one dimensional as one dimensional can get. He was a power puncher who always relied on the big shot to end the fight. Any time he was ever in over his head he showed a fundamental lack of ability to adapt. (See the first 8 rounds against Oscar, the entire Hopkins fight, and the Wright fight.)

Cotto is superior to Tito is ever possible aspect of the game, save for power punching. He can box when he needs to, he moves his head well, great ring movement, he's a better technician, etc....

Tito could not run from Tony, because A.) he's too prideful and B.) he's too ****** to know how. So his only choice would be to brawl Margarito. It then becomes a question of who's chin or body would break first, and that's up for debate.

One thing I know for sure is that if Trinidad couldn't take it, he wouldn't last as long as Cotto did because he isn't smart enough to get out of the way of incoming damage.

This thread is disrespect for a great fighter like Tito. Imagine Margarito Vs Bhop? Tito can last 12 rounds with a skilled fighter like him .

Margarito is a pug fighter no chance he beats Tito.

Tito would definitely slow down Margarito and make him think twice about applying such pressure.
