b-hop vs calslappy fair decision? or not?

and by slaps i dont mean punches that lack power but are still thrown with accuracy and good technique like malignaggi's shots, i mean shots that land with the inside of the glove or dont land cleanly

I can't remember the stats but hopkins threw maybe 300 odd punches and slapzaghe maybe 750, remember this isn't amateur boxing where its based on clean head hunting.

There is only one problem with your post and it is this hatred you have for the "Yanks".To claim that Hopkins is not 43 and it was a dominant performance by Calzaghe,that Joe was never floored in,is a bit crazy.I don't hold the view personally but I don't see it as propaganda.For the most part it is true.Hopkins is a spoiler,his fans knew that before he went into the fight yet some said he would dominate and others said it would be a close decision.The mistake you make is creating this agenda that you think Americans have against Calzaghe because he is British.Picture this'your American,your IQ drops 200 points maybe more,Calzaghe comes on your TV screen and the HBO/American networks talk about how this mini Tyson will destroy the Welshman in his back yard.The fight airs and you witness one of the most one sided beat downs ever in boxing.Before the fight you fell for the hype and posted about lacy and his power and youth agianst an aging champion from Wales.The Lacy hype was so big that even British posters were questioning their pick for the winner of Lacy-Calzaghe.How would you feel after that if you were American?

Another scenario:Once again you are American this time you gain 200 pounds LOL and you are a fan of Hopkins and Jones,you followed their career since the begining and seen their primes and their downfalls.Now Calzaghe comes into the picture and offers Hopkins a fight but the negotiations fall through and it gets post poned and he is at the age of 43 with maybe one or two fights left in him.They agree to a deal and they fight.Hopkins losses a SD in a fight he had no stamina for,but I think it had to do with Calzaghes aggression.
Now you think to yourself if only Hopkins was in his prime and had more stamina?Roy Jones is the same situation and will lose because he has nothing left,he can't even put away a blown up Welterweight.Calzaghe even said in his book that Jones is not the same fighter and fghting him would do nothing for his career.Imagine hearing that as a fan of Roy Jones.

I don't think you dislike Americans it is just sometimes I see alot of blame being put towards American media and American bias being thrown around.I can understand it to a certain degree and realise that some posters express a bias towards Europeans.Not all fans are like that and all Americans should not be put into this "euro bum" group.I like all fighters regardless of where they are born.I am a big Hatton fan even tho I argue with Weebler about Cortez.

i personally think hopkins did enough to make it a draw, not sure if he threw enough to justify the win......he did make joe fight poorly and look ordinary though, that could have tipped it for him

joe made it close with his constant attack and b-hop admittedly didnt throw enough to firmly secure the win but b-hop should have won a close decision IMO

HOPKINS LOST!! To say that Hopkins got ROBBED is ridiculous. I had the fight close. It wasnt pretty, but Joe C pulled it off. Cant believe this is still an issue.

This shouldve been a public poll, I'd love to see who the hell thought Hopkins was robbed. Hopkins has to learn that you cant win a fight throwing one or two good right hands every 2 rounds. He simply did not do enough and got outworked, not outclassed, however, like some would like to believe.

Joe won fairly, Hopkins made Joe look bad but Joe got in there did his job and got out. It's not about looking pretty.
