I will always proclaim his greatness, unless he loses to Jones, in which case I will say he is a bum.

I wish Calzaghe would lose so that he'll keep boxing to redeem that loss. unfortunately calzaghe chose a faded RJJ and will likely win. our only hope is that rjj makes calzaghe look bad.

              Good old Joe.
Ending his career against a no chance washed up Roy and earning a decent retirement fund in the process.
Intelligent for the pocket but garbage for the legacy.

No matter what the Roy huggers say he was spent 5 years ago and has done NOTHING since but fight no marks and another washed up smaller man in Tito.

              Easy payday for Joe.

              NO RISK high Reward.

To be talking about it so much you have to figure it must be time for him to do it. It's true what he says as well, virtually no elite boxers ever retire undefeated and to do so, to pick your time and just do it is a great luxury to have. I'm caught in two minds.
There we go, he ducks the good fighters and fights the 40 year olds, lame.

By doing this he will never receive the greatness he wants, he needs at least one world class win on his resume, which he lacks. His best win is obviously a 43 year old Hopkins, **** Kessler, Hopkins almost kicked Joe's ass, and has a resume leagues better than Kessler, but alas at 43 he couldn't hold his own anymore. If he had fought him at least in his thirties it would have been legit.

All you clowns saying Calzaghe isn't getting his due, I made a deal with the Calzaghe fans that if Joe doesn't duck Pavlik and beats him I'll will say I'm a moron and that Calzaghe is great. I refuse to look at Calzaghe as great when his entire record is padded with bums and his best win is a 43 year old man whome he almost lost to.

This doesn't surprise me, I've always said don't keep talking up a fight with Pavlik as it's no certaintity at all. He's never said he'll definitely fight on and a final fight in NY against Roy Jones is a good finale retirement fight no matter what you think of them.

Hopkins was LHW #1 coming of a RECENT win over Tarver whom is at the top end of the LHW division and Winky Wright. Hopkins did not age massively over night, that's wishful thinking and crap. Kesslers SMW #2, will be #1, and will build his resume. But stop being so resume obsessed.

I personally hope he fights Pavlik then retires, but I'm not sure he'll fight on. People need to stop constantly going on about Calzaghe Pavlik because Joe never said he definitely would. He's intended on retirement for a long time so it's just another fight to try and cement his name in America which for many is an impossible feat going by past experience.

People will kick off saying Calzaghes a chicken and bum for not fighting on, and call Pavlik a hyped lighter weight if he beats him. He can't win, so why bother fighting on past what he intended. No point in many ways. And he's not genuinely really ducked anyone unlike many boxers in the past or present despite what some make out.

I was expecting him to walk away. He knows his own body better than anyone and he feels the aches and pains setting in everyday, reflexes and speed diminish and it just gets harder. He is probably in training camp now still dealing with his last training injury.

He is not young anymore and knows very well that Pavlik is capable of upsetting him at this stage when he knows he could have beaten pav a couple years ago.

I will not go out and accuse him of being chicken though like so many do. He gets enough **** swung his way mainly due to his ******ed nut huggers in here.
