Gatti had 4 fights of the year in a 7 year span. That speaks for itself. He was sensational.

Corrales also deserves in for fighting incredibly talented fighters in their prime, and getting his fair share of wins against them.

If there were more fighters out there like Gatti and Corrales, the sport would not be in the doldrums it currently sits in. They both deserve their place.

Fanboy Dan Rafael is. I say no to both, but Corrales is clearly the one who deserves it more between the two of them.

These guys won't go to the HOF cuz they were face first brawlers. That makes you a legend in the eyes of fans cuz they'll never forget your fights, but purists frown on fighters like Gatti and Chico.

So was Jake LaMotta. The HOF is not about inducting only the best, but who left a real impression on the sport. Here is a post someone else made in another forum ragarding Gatti being a shoe in for the HOF.

"I'm tired of this mentality. Boxing isn't about who is the best. no sport is.
If you have said that Gatti doesn't deserve to be in the HOF, then are you really a boxing fan? Gatti took the cards he was dealt and made the absolute best with them. he wasn't born with Speed like Mayweather. He wasn't born with insane power like Pavlik. But name a fighter that has had more guts then Gatti has? on the downside of his B level career he took on the BEST fighter in the world, in Floyd. He's been badly hurt many times, and never once sat on the canvas when we knew he could get up. he took massive beatings over and over again, and never gave up. He was outclassed in every big fight he took place in. And almost all of his big wins he won on Heart alone. he was part of some of the most exciting bouts in history. And watch a recent interview with him, the sport definately left its mark on his life. can you name a fighter that has a more exciting career then Gatti? can you name 10? How many fighters are in the HOF?

If Gatti's career doesnt define what boxing is about, ive been watching a different sport.

i think he deserves to be in the HOF, not because the HOF has dumbed down its standards, but becauase gatti fits in on the highest standard."

His fights with Micky Ward were great. ****! alot of his fights were Great! He'd always switch his style, from boxing to brawaling and sometimes both. Gonna download the Gatti vs Ward fights

He had a ton of exciting fights. He left a huge impression on the sport. He gave way to much to the sport to be denied. Was he an elite fighter? far from it. He does have to be considered one of the most exciting fighters in history. He was the human highlight reel and any real boxing purist will not give a **** that he was not an elite fighter.

Corrales first fight with Castillo gets him to the HOF. Based on many of the fighters in there now, he deserves it.

Gatti, no. If I was voting based on accomplishments alone, I would say no to both. But there are so many questionable boxers in the HOF that I would not be totally against either getting in. They need to raise the bar though.

Neither should get in if solid standards were held to, regardless of sentiments. Corrales of course has the better resume between the two however.
