Actually its usually the opposite. In many of his fights Calzaghe comes out throwing wide flailing punches and trying to bully his opponents. When it works it's great, but when it doesn't, and he gets hit on the counter a few times, he reverts to a more normal boxing style, punches straighter and just fights to a decision. Sometimes he seems to hate doing it.

Yes. That's why I don't rate Calzaghe's one sided and technically excellent beatdown of him as making him P4P material. I think Mijares - Arce is closer to a Lacy type performance too, Arce had more in the tank than Lacy for sure, but the reality was simply that Mijares was too fast for him. By the mid rounds of the fight Arce was a punchbag and had nothing to trouble Mijares whatsoever who had to little more than keep throwing and moving to win.

he lost 2 times when he was a young boy, the third loss he avenged 2 times, he was simply to small and underated Morales the first time.

Better than fighting nobodies and almost losing to a 43 year old..

Pacquiao has Barrera, Marquez, Morales, Larios, Solis and Ledwaba...

what does JC have? sweet **** all thats what

Manny was only 21 when he last lost a fight. His career didn't really hit supercharged status until he came to the U.S. in '01. I hate, hate, HATE when people try to degrade a fighter just because he has a few losses. Being undefeated has to be one of the most overrated achievements in the history of sports. Pac has done more than enough to make his losses completely insignificant.

It's only the british that think that, being undefeated in my mind makes a fighter look untested...

Non of the best fighters retired undefeated, the only one being Marciano, and he's considered to have fought crappy oposition, much like Calzaghe.

Pacquiao has obviously done more than Calzaghe has by a mile, his resume is stacked and the opposition he faced is leagues better than anyone Calzaghe fought.

He's also improved as a fighter greatly, he went from being a hard punching clumsy slugger to a fast multi dimensional fighter with the best feet in the business.
