You can favour who you like, and I might even agree with you that Toney and Jones were a bit better, but to say that the difference is night and day is frankly laughable and I really don't think you'd find many real boxing fans who've seen plenty of all of them who would agree with you.

Roy Jones and James Toney are HOFers and ATG not tony but RJJ is. Yet, Benn is able to beat RJJ while James Toney and Hopkins were not able to do so. I am not bias as you Calzaghe fans who will go to the end of the world and hype his resume. Roy Jones in his Prime would be able to KO Benn or Eubank. You talk about these guys like they are ATG, which they are not. Calzaghe hardest fight was against Hopkins IMO and just escaped with a SD and getting knocked down. The difference of boxing ability is HUGE. Why didn’t Benn or Eubank fight James Toney when he insulted them on English TV.

Benn has a very akward style the best way to pin Benn down and hit him is to double the jab and follow up witht the right hand thats how Eubank put him away and how Mauro Galvano hurt him in their 2nd fight and McClellan only found him in the 9th round cause he stopped trying to knock his head off and started using the jab and he followed up and he had Benn going again in the 9th round Benn is a difficult target to hit when he bobs and weaves and comes out of rolls throwing hooks etc

Jones hardly ever uses the jab so i think he would find it hard to land cleanly on Benn what with Benn's akward low style id still make Jones favourite obviosly but in Benn he would have faced a style that he has never faced before so allthough i have him winning it would be a hard nights work for him

Benn was often little more than a slugger, who did avoid punches by ducking very low but he could still be hit rather easily. Against McClellan he took plenty of punishment, both did, he just found the courage within himself to keep going forward despite it.

As we know McClellan was never cared much for defense, Benn knew that as long as he could stay up on his two feet he would always have a chance at finding McClellan who was right there in front of him.
