    Hes an admitted crackhead.

Margarito isn't even one of my favorite fighters. I like him as a fighter but hes not on my level of favorites like Morales, Chavez, Pea, and Holyfield.

    Heres a 10% for you,

    Tarver KO2 Jones.

see you think because there was an 8 month time from ruiz to tarver, that for 8 months roy worked on getting back to LHW... well he didnt... he was looking at possibly a holyfield fight... then he decided to fight tarver...

he didnt start losing weight for the entire 8 months.. he did his 10 week training camp...

now when you have FAT on your body, losing 24 pounds... QUITE doable with a professional 10 week training camp... when you have NOTHING but muscle.... losing 24 POUNDS.. is HUGE... especially at 34-35 years old...

you have to run with a rubber suit on, then run some more, then run some more... and completely weight drain your entire body... lose 24 pounds of water and muscle... and THEN go fight a 12 round championship fight with a GOOD fighter...

      and he WON!

now after the fight, u think hes just gonna keep all that water off and be dehydrated? no hes gonna go back up to where he was before the training camp of the fight...

and guess what? 6 months later, hes gonna have to do it ALL OVER again... at 35 years old... theres no way, no how, that ISNT gonna take it out of you.... as ive said before.. u can pass out from doing NOTHING if your dehydrated, let alone being punched in the face... being dehydrated definitely takes away from your punch resistance...

with that said, tarver STILL landed a good punch on roy...

the johnson KO was 4 months after the tarver KO... and yet ANOTHER training camp right after the tarver fight... hes basically KILLING his body with this ****

and the 3rd fight with tarver... well that was basically... just GO 12 rounds and survive... i think anyone NORMAL would be gunshy after being iced twice..

all u have to do is look at the comparison below.. and know something is going on with the weight draining

      Ruiz fight

      8 months later, tarver fight...

I consider Roy Jones to have lost his prime. The last fight I saw where Roy Jones was in his prime was for his HW fight against John Ruiz. I thought he should have retired after the Ruiz fight seeing as how there was really nothing left to prove. Every fighter has a different period of time considered their prime because not everyone automatically loses their prime at a set age. The normal boxer typically loses their prime past the age of 32. Bernard Hopkins prime in the opinion of many was when he was 34-39 years of age. Also smaller weight fighters have shorter primes due to the high activity level of their fights which in turn usually lead to shorter careers. Roy Jones Jr skills didn't slowly deteriorate with age as the majority of fighters do but rather fell off a cliff. Antonio Tarver was less shopworn hadn't fought nearly the amount of fights that Jones had and to me was in his prime because it was at that point in his career where he accomplished stuff he hasn't been able to match since.

          No, you didn't.

Jones is Tarvers *****. The 3rd fight told the tale of the Tarver and Jones saga. Tarver seeks out Jones and Jones runs and dances away. Once Tarver finally catches up, he knocks Roy silly.

Funny thing, since Roy has been on his little streak, you don't hear him mention another fight at all.

          head to head, Tarver>>>Roy.

          Career wise Roy>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Tarver.

          No excuses period.

Roy Jones Jr. wasn't the Superman you thought he was.

When you say nobody, do you mean Tarver, Glen Johnson, Sam Peter, Kelly Pavlik, Klitschko, Bernard Hopkins?

I guess were going to forget about, i think it was the 11th or 10th i cant remember, where roy actually had tarver on the verge of being stopped and roy was so gunshy he backed off while tarver potentially was about to be stopped, it couldnt believe it.

This isn't about having a "fresher" body. Its about the natural decline of ones physical abilities. Are you going to be as fast at 34 as you were at 26-29?

Why does everyone ignore basic fundamentals?

Why ignore that if Roy started earlier, his experience didn't carry him in those fights?

You're ******ed if you think the human body gets faster and develops better reflexes in its 30s than it what it had in its 20s.

Thats just ******, like all of these excuses that no matter what, Roy Jones should have a perfect record.

                    Guess what kids,

its why they fight in the ring and not on paper.

and not a single one of you was calling Roy past it before the first fight.

I just love these excuses though.

Roy woulda and shoulda did this and that.

Sounds like some other clown we're used to in the world of woulda and shoulda.

You would have a credible argument if Tarvers entire fundamental revolved around use of his reflexes but he doesnt, Tarvers entire style of being rangy and using his size and his jab and left hand allow for a far more sound defense that revolves less around moving out of the way and more about actually defending yourself, which roy relied upon. Once roy lost that, he was no longer in his prime. However Tarver is a more traditional fighter, with less fights, and yes, a fresher body does matter, its the same reason Runningbacks in the NFL are finished usually after age 30/31/32, and quarterbacks/linebackers/wide receivers etc can play into their mid 30's, because when your reflexes go, and your whole fight game revolves around it, you wont be the same. Its the difference between a guy like Roy and a guy like Tarver. You can say i am making excuses but i am giving you reasons, you just dont want to see it any other way.

It doesnt matter if tarver was faster or whatever in his mid 20's because he started late, was in the olympics when roy had faced the likes of toney and hopkins, and if he did lose a little bit, it didint matter as much mostly because as i said, his style didint completely revolve around using his reflexes like Roys did, Roy didnt have those fundamentals to really fall back on as he got older, Tarver does, they are 2 completely different fighters, why do you not want to see this

Actually, Tarver was at his physical peak. He never looked better than in the roy jones fights. People peak at different ages.
