So are you really trying to say that Margarito turned down a Mayweather fight to fight Gomez instead? I'd sure like to know your source for that.

Max Kellerman is one of the most skilled commentators out there, but I doubt anyone can pull Mayweather out of retirement.

And if Floyd unretires and beats Margarito then it will be, Yeah but he can't beat Paul Williams, And on and on it goes. That's boxing....

Floyd is certainly not scared of Margarito, in fact I see Floyd easily outboxing him. Margarito's hands are too slow, just like Joshua Clottey was easily able to catch alot of Margarito's punches, Floyd wouldn't allow him to land clean shots, he would see all of his punches coming. Also unlike Cotto, who was expending alot of energy trying to knock Marg out, Floyd's style is based on conserving energy, and he would not gas out like Cotto did, nor would he allow Margarito to land his uppercut as often as he did against Miguel. I see Floyd "potshotting" his way to victory, and then rather than give Floyd his props for the win there will be complaints that Floyd should have tried to knock him out.

Powerful statement by Kellerman and it couldn't be more true. Mayweather left too many unanswered questions in the Welterweight division.

However, many are blowing this way out of proportion. Just because Kellerman thinks, hmmm whatever he thinks, (as he said that others around the nation thinks mayweather is ducking Margerito) does not really mean anything..It is a opinion...OPINION>

Even though Margerito had a tremendous showing, he IMO has a very small chance vs Mayweather. Very small. Mayweather would literally box Margerito head off. His straight ahead wear a fighter down style, would mean nothing versus Mayweather who is the best condition, hardest to hit, and a fighter who is use to boxing, counterpunching, moving laterally and this (if you all saw the cotto-margerito fight) was super effective and Cotto has nothing in the boxing compartment anywhere near a Mayweather. The way he was able to hit margerito coming in with what ever he wanted, and move away has to show you all a blue print for what Mayweather does all day every day.

No Mayweather will not hurt Margerito, but no on will. Hurting Margo is not the path to success, it is boxing him, getting him frusterated, being able to catch him coming in with counters and moving away and not getting hit. Does that spell MAYWEATHER......

So even thought I am not a Mayweather fan, he beats Margo, as styles makes fights, and Mayweather has the perfect style to box mayweather to death, and yes win a boring fight....10 times out of 10.

I guarantee you if the where to fight, Kellerman, everyone would be drumming up the fight, but not one of them would put a dime on margo...not a dime. They all know after seeing how easily cotto was able to outbox, Margo that it would be a long frusterating night for Margo.
I totally agree with you on this one.

Lets start with Delahoya who has always looked a fearless champion he has always looked for the biggest baddest challenge he can find. After watching Margarito destroy Cotto, Delahoya is looking for the smallest challenge physically at least in philipino boxer Manny pacquiao, guy who came from fly weight upto light weight still not at a welter weight. Now Mayweather Jr. Floyd retired ostensibly his stated reason is that his legacy is secured and he has nothing left to prove. While this is true of the light weight classes at welter weight the preception is that you did not take on your toughest challenges and in fact ducked them. Antonio Margarito after that performance against Miguel Cotto people are talking in barbershops, street corners, around the country and in Mexico, floyd mayweather not only doesnt want to fight mar he can't beat him. Floyd if you retire cause you feel your legacy is secure you need to unretire to secure if on the other hand if you retired because you interest in boxing has wained in that case stay retired cause no one with one foot in boxing and one foot out should take on the welter weight champion of the world.

I took that straight from the mouth of kellerman word for word or as close as I could while typing and listening to Kellerman. For you guys that missed it last night.
Gayweather's lover just had a lover's gay quarrel. Lols.

It's a pleasant surprise Keller is shoving words straight to gayweather's mouth.

definetly....the best way to lure Mayweather back in, is by calling him out on HBO a la Ricky Hatton (post Castillo fight)

He accepted the Hatton challenge because he knew Ricky was garbage and he would easily beat him.
